Few pics of my Iveco bus

It will need to be a hell of a draughty van to end up with being cold with a log burner fitted.... Many a sub zero night on my canal boat with 12" of snow, on the roof sitting in 4 foot of very cold water with 6" of ice on top and every door/window open to cool down. I still wouldn't fit one...

Few pics of my Iveco bus

I used to love my logburner when I lived on my Narrow boat.... I wouldn't have one in a van though... Dusty/smelly/fickle to light (usually when you need it most) and temperamental to keep lit at times and difficulty finding decent dry free fuel ... When I built the transit I did consider one...

    Heating Van over Winter

Easiest way is to keep using it ;-).... We love being away in winter as places are so much quieter.

    Large campervan

We had a Transit Jumbo (XLWB extra high top...) Me and the other half and 2 dogs.... I wouldn't have wanted anyone else along as it would have been bordering on claustrophobic even WITH it being a, mostly open layout (just fixed double at the rear). 5 folks in it on a rainy day just doesn't...

    Whats occurring

Part way down a bottle of nice Malbec watching the sunset.... Finished wiring in the starter battery to Ring rscdc30 cables yesterday before we left for the Llyn peninsula (fitted the solar panel/Ring rscdc30 during covid but never got around to the cables for the b2b bit as the solar was...

    Chinese or 2nd hand?

IF your on Facebook there are a few Chinese heater groups around that frequently have 'trusted' sellers mentioned.

    Chinese or 2nd hand?

IMHO it depends what you want from the heater.... IF your only away for short periods/warmer months where IF the heater packs up its dealable with then a Chinese one from a trusted/reccomended seller will likely be fine for the use I went with a genuine Eber as we go away all year round and...

A strange pricing scheme for LEDs ...

Th There are LEDs and there are LEDs... Cheap LEDs over driven to make them brighter than they are designed to be ends with shortened service life (its why cheaper chinglese led torches are often bright but short lived) I've some very bright torches I use for exploring old mines that a friend...

    2014 T460 Transit minibus electrics

From memory with the twin battery system one is dedicated as starter only.... The other is Aux systems. Using a B2B charger from the aux battery should be fine as from memory the starter battery has priority charging wise. Sounds like a wet system run from the engine coolant. (ideal for tapping...

    2014 T460 Transit minibus electrics

2014 is a sort of 'Smart' alternator BUT not truly smart in terms of a VSR (Voltage sensing relay) not working with it. This thread on transit owners forum may help explain https://fordtransit.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=191853 I used a Durite VSR on our Mk6 Transit with no issues to charge...

    Perfect Conversion Base for StreetSleeper

The heady days of the 1970s/80s custom car scene.... Most drifted away from it and youngsters seemed more interested latterly in modding hot hatchesax power style... And even that seems to have died on its arse now mainly... Few modded smaller vans etc (speshially the VWs caddys etc) Long gone...

    Perfect Conversion Base for StreetSleeper

I came very close to buying one of these CF 4x4 FF (Ferguson formula as used in the Jenson intercepter ff 4x4) 3.5 ton.... The fear of breaking something in the driveline that was likely made out of solid unobtanium put me off, so I swerved it.
