Diesel heater pump question, Webasto / Eberspacher / Autoterm / Planar

If you cut supply to the fuel pump it'll likely cause the heater to go into fault as it won't be able to perform its cool down run (and start up run come to that) It's entirely possible that you could (if they run the same as eberspachers) use the external stat to interrupt the (on eberspachers...

Diesel heater pump question, Webasto / Eberspacher / Autoterm / Planar

Not for the chinglese one.... I know the Eber is 12v from the controller for on and 0v for off then the ECU initiates the start/close down procedure BUT that's already got a thermostat on it. I'd guess there is a wiring diagram etc online for the chinglese ones somewhere.

Diesel heater pump question, Webasto / Eberspacher / Autoterm / Planar

AFAIK If you just shut the power off to eberspachers they don't run their correct cool down procedure and you risk issues with glow plugs/screens and possible cracked combustion chamber... So what do you switch to allow the run down procedure?

How did you manage to configure the temp controller to control the heater?

Diesel heater pump question, Webasto / Eberspacher / Autoterm / Planar

I simply meant that you can leave an eberspacher running on a low temp setting and it will only run the pump when it's actually heating as called for by the thermostat.... The chinglese ones I've come accross the pump runs all the time the heater is switched on even on its minimum setting...

Diesel heater pump question, Webasto / Eberspacher / Autoterm / Planar

Outside using a suitable one of these.... Correct mounting of the pump can be critical to how much noise it makes (and transmits through the body of the vehicle) Especially with a chinglese copy where the pump never shuts off unlike a genuine eberspacher where the pump only runs WHEN the...

LPG vs Diesel heaters for winter travel Pros & cons

58p per litre at my local stop... However I still find diesel cheaper and more convenient for our useage (having had eberspachers and propex in the past) in real world situations (we are regularly away in the UK winters and the eberspacher is often running 24/7 for 2 weeks or so) When I...

LPG vs Diesel heaters for winter travel Pros & cons

I LPG may... Or may not still be available BUT it will also go up in price... Not to mention the shrinkage in the availability of bulk fill options... Pre filled bottles are already ridiculously expensive and likely will only get worse. I run 2 refillable bottles but will be looking to...

Bought this a Classic webasto diesel heater,

There IS..... or at least there is on most of the inlet silencers I have dealt with... This is almost identical to the all in one type 8kw (Chinese) one I have keeping my greenhouse toasty at the moment.

Bought this a Classic webasto diesel heater,

I suspect you MAY find the fuel filter restricts the air inlet (webastos/ebers are designed to run with not a lot of restriction on the combustion air inlet side.... What filters you buy are usually pretty much just noise supressors... After all there aren't a great deal of fine/delicate parts...

Bought this a Classic webasto diesel heater,

K and N and foam types are about THE worst for transmitting induction noise... The perforated tube type (as per the original webasto/Eber types are far better at dampening induction noise in my experience.... I've seen mini moto/pit bike exhausts used to great effectiveness on the combustion...

Bought this a Classic webasto diesel heater,

The holes allow the inlet air to dissipate noise wave energy into the absorbant material... IF the holes aren't there the sound waves carry on bouncing along the tube in the way that speaking tubes used to work on ships etc.

Bull bar mounted spare wheel question

A lot of folk mount stuff to the front of their vehicles.... Spare wheels/motorcycles/winches etc.... Biggest issue I can see is it basically wipes out any pedestrian crash protection (most modern vehicles are designed to be 'soft' at the front to provide extra protection in the event of...

    Help build for me

As Wildebus points out.... Its a bit 'how long is a piece of string' Fully appointed gin Palace OR basically a tin tent... When I built our transit Jumbo a fixed double bed was a must, permanant toilet/shower weren't. Wanted space inside and room for dogs and warmth... Plus ability to not...

Yup looks like someone has had a fiddle there.... Last service kit I bought was around £20 (not including burner pin) Which I thought was so reasonable I bought an extra one in the van just incase.
