    Heater controls

Definitely a diesel heater, didn't have any other fuel source till I converted the bus & only gas appliance is the cooker. Will post a photo next time I'm in the bus & see if anyone recognises it, the 2 switches are not like any of the ones in the above link.

    Heater controls

My bus has a diesel heater fitted, assume its an eberspacher as paperwork came with bus. The only controls are a dial that looks like a thermostat type heat control & a 4 position rotary switch beside it. Am I right in assuming the dial controls the temp & the rotary switch is fan speed? Not...

OLDER DAF - Any feedback please or comments ? TIA

As with any truck, look for rot in cab floor & wings. Cab mounting too. Check that everything electrical works as it should. Think this one should be relatively simple with no computer & the Cummins lump is legendary. Allinson transmission? is a good unit too so drive train should be good.....

OLDER DAF - Any feedback please or comments ? TIA

Saw that on ebay, thought it looked a tidy motor. Haven't heard any horror stories about the earlier , reckon it's worth a look. Chinese diesel heater only around £100 so that's easily sorted & solar can be had for around 200quid for a 200watt kit. Good luck with it....

Iveco 2007 Library Van - Any good ??

Agreed, any unsafe work is a safety issue. Point I was trying to make was not everybody is dangerous & sometimes you only find out your capabilities when you try things. Admitted some practices are dangerous but as with any diy projects certain aspects ( gas & electrical installations etc)...

Iveco 2007 Library Van - Any good ??

Also a point to consider is I could never afford a factory built moho, so it was a case of "build one or don't have one" While I have a wide range of various skills I had never done anything of this nature when I started on my bus. With some help ( mainly due to mobility issues) it was a 9month...

Iveco 2007 Library Van - Any good ??

Surely better for them to have a go tho trev, you never know your own capabilities till you have a try. My bus is probably not every ones cuppa tea, but I like it & I like to sit in it & remember the time I spent building it, & time spent in the company of my buddy who helped too....

Iveco 2007 Library Van - Any good ??

Long as its not rotten I reckon 2.5k doesn't sound a fortune, especially with the Motor Caravan body type already sorted. If its coming with a full mot it needs checking to make sure its legit, but should point to it being at least half right. I run an Iveco & love it, it is the 3.0 litre & also...

Iveco 2007 Library Van - Any good ??

Looks tidy enough at 1st glance. Doesn't look like a fortune either, as long as the spec is suitable for your needs. Reliability wise I'd do seems to have a good name, & far superior quality to a transit..... Worth a look but always remember its not the only one in the world, if in doubt look...

    Water tanks

I used 2x70litre Fiamma blue tanks on my build, but wouldn't use them again. Tanks to be fair are sound, nice fit for the build & seem strong. Problem was the fittings supplied by Fiamma are absolute shit. Couldn't tighten them up to seal without stripping the threads. Ended up replacing them...

    Leisure battery charging

My leisure batteries are charged through a simple homemade split charge setup. A cable goes from my starter battery via a heavy duty rallycar style isolator then through an 80amp midi fuse to the 2 leisure batteries which are then war that to the chassis. I can isolate the batteries so when...
