    Conversion finished

Was originally going to be mid Brunswick green same as a truck I drove in my youth, but actually ended up light Brunswick which is nearly identical to John Deere tractor green, so I'm happy with the result. Looks very good considering it was applied with a 4" brush!....

    Conversion finished

Thanks Phil, getting good feedback from all who have seen it so far. Not changed the logbook yet, taking the photos tomorrow if it doesn't rain then sending the docs off this weekend. Fingers crossed, sounds like I might have some problems with the change. Everything is done as laid out on the...

    Conversion finished

Just finished my 5.5tonne I've go self build. Been at it steadily since January, & took it for mot yesterday. Passed with no advisories & mot man says it's very tidy underneath. Been a council welfare bus before I got it so well maintained & serviced regularly so all in all, quite happy now.

    AIB Never Again

Been keeping a log of costs for materials etc so I should have a reasonably accurate idea of what I've spent, but that won't take into account the bits I've sourced for free (professional womble!) or made myself. Will be something to consider tho thanks.

    Bed Weight?

I built my own bed from plywood & cls timber. Top is hinged to make a large storage locker & to house the electrics. 4ft wide & mounted across the body with a 1ft walkway all round gives me a separate bedroom at the back & a permanent bed. Still only used 6ft of floor length, same as if the bed...

    Violating a Princess!

Watching with interest. Just doing a bus conversion myself, fancied a Merc but out of my price range so I ended up with a 5.5tonne Iveco instead. I too now have a shed full of bus related detritus! Good luck with the build.👍😛

Having finished the build.....it’s time for a smarten up of the outside.

Thought that was the case Phil, but didn't want to mix in without checking. Thought as long as the "04" bit wasn't split it would be ok. Small fault to find anyway on such a nice build.

How is the spacing of the plate illegal?

I like the first one mate. The Merc looks square & angular, don 't think wavy llines are a good look on such a square van. Love the conversion by the way.
