    swb vivaro budget build

Don't give up on it yet buddy. Some of us are self builders too & wait to see your finished van with interest. Hoping to see it in the flesh maybe once it's finished & out there on the road.....😉👍

There are some weird looking campers out there....

Reckon it might pass with DVLA it seems to have all they ask for plus it has external graphics too. Looks more like a "campervan" than my bus I reckon....

    Seating cushions

I couldn't source any reasonably priced ones when I was looking. Just bought a piece of memory foam off ebay,20inches by 70inches by 4inches thick for 25quid so probably best to do it yourself in my opinion.

Glad you like it thanks. Not every ones taste as I say but I've been waiting 25 yrs to build something like this. Wife/kids/bills always got in the way so finally I did it. If you want it bad enough you'll find a way👍😉

    Budget ideas

I run a 5.5tonne Iveco ex welfare bus. Self conversion, not to every ones taste but I love it. Lots of mahogany stained t&g cladding, small vintage cooker, full size sink/drainer, cassette toilet etc all sourced 2nd hand from various places. Build took approx 8 months with help from a friend as...

    Solar Question

Thanks guys, lot of helpful info there. Only really got 6 led lights to run plus a couple of ish charging points for now but looking to fit an inverter & small 240v fridge soon.

    Solar Question

Looking at solar panel kits. 2x100watt panels & 20a controller. Noticed the descriptions say only suitable for charging 2 unconnected batteries. My question:- would this type of kit be suitable to charge my 2x110ah leisure batteries that are connected together? They are wired +to+ &-to- with the...

    Inverter Question.

Thanks for that buddy. Never used one before but my 12volt fridge box shenanigans last weekend did not inspire confidence. Was advised to follow this route so hopefully no more flat batteries & sour milk/warm beer...😋

    Inverter Question.

My next job is solar panels, then I plan to fit an inverter to run a counter top domestic fridge. Fridge will be mounted near the front of the bus but my leisure batteries are under the bed at the rear. My question is:- Will the inverter be better mounted near the batteries with a long cable run...

DVLA requirements for change to motor caravan

All very misleading, you are required by law to get the logbook changed but if they won't change it you can still use your vehicle as a motor caravan. Sounds like a complete mess to me...

    Conversion finished

First trip out went fairly well. Only real issue was the fridge box flattening all my batteries, made worse by the bonnet catch cable coming adrift so it took around 90 mins to get the bonnet up! Need to sort split charge relay out & fit some solar panels next, & intending to fit an inverter &...

    Conversion finished

Had the bus over the weighbridge this morning. With fuel tank 3/4 full but the 70 litre water tank empty it tares at 4.7tonnes. Leaves me around 3/4 tonne to play with for cooking gear/ bedding/ supplies(beer!)

    Conversion finished

I'll definitely try & get it changed just to keep everything right, but have to wait & see. If they don't change it at least I tried....
