    Connecting heater to diesel tank?

With a bit of fiddle and a cloth to catch any swarf (as well as plenty of sticky grease on the drill bit) It may be possible to do it without dismantling everything.... On our 2004 Ducato it looks like there is an access panel to the top of the tank/pump etc.... You won't need much room to...

AC Fridge In Campervan -.Power Consumption Test

Two terminals is a bit 'odd'.... Most 240v hermetic compressors I've come across have been 3 terminal (C-S-R) capacitor/start/run.... Has it got a wiring diagram anywhere?

AC Fridge In Campervan -.Power Consumption Test

Hard stard kits are basically a large capacitor.... Think of it like a battery that stores current for when it's needed... To give the motor an initial " boost" I've not come accross them in years as most of our big stuff (open/semi hermetic) used Star/delta wired motors and all our small...

    12 Volt Heating

Have to say after living with a log burner for 10 years plus when, I lived on a narrow boat... Much as I loved it... I wouldn't have one in a van/motorhome... Dusty, often temperamental to light (and keep lit) smelly and fuel is both bulky (and expensive relatively these days) I'd go...

    12 Volt Heating

I don't think there is anything wrong with lpg in caravans/motorhomes/camper vans or even boats come to that... Provided its fitted correctly AND maintained to a decent standard. A petrol engined vehicle is inherently dangerous (highly flammable liquid near to sources of ignition and hot...

    12 Volt Heating

Bottles were from gumtree.... Filler and change over valve was from https://www.gaslowdirect.com/Refillable-Shop Though ebay/amazon can be cheaper.

    12 Volt Heating

Lpg is just heating/cooking fridge.... Bought bottles second hand (with plenty of test life left) both bottles and hoses for less than £100.. And fitted them myself (just added a manual change over so can run one bottle down and then swap over to the full one) Fitting is painless if you can...

    12 Volt Heating

Batteries are only cheap 100ah leisure batteries so nowt fancy.... Same with the solar panels and £20 pwm solar charge controller... Inverter was less than £200 including leads and remote (probably not the most efficient BUT haven't had any issues) I built it with cheap components as so many...

    12 Volt Heating

Heating wise I'd steer well away from electric and personally from gas.... I built our transit to be self sufficient power wise... All electric cooking (microwave /toaster /kettle /slow cooker etc) Run off a 3000w inverter powered by 2 x 100w solar panels and a durite VSR... Heating via...

    GPS units

I use the tomtom downloaded onto my smartphone and tablet.... £20 ish a year and has free map updates AND live traffic updates... I wouldn't be without it (especially the amount of miles I do work wise.... But its saved me lying delays whilst away in the van/motorhome too)

AC Fridge In Campervan -.Power Consumption Test

I know mate ..... Point I was trying to make was that there are a lot of units around that likely originate in a single factory BUT have different coloured casings/names etc etc (sometimes a good thing.... Sometimes a bad thing lol) This is the one I have (12v 3000w) As a fridge/aircon...

AC Fridge In Campervan -.Power Consumption Test

I've got a very similar 3000w mod sine one in the transit (branded Spannungswandler) Probably out of the same parent company by looks AND by the remote panel... Can't complain at the cost (£170 ish) including remote and powered our microwave /kettle/toaster/slow cooker etc without issue.

    Battery monitor

I have to say I'm leaning towards A Victron 712 bluetooth for the motorhome (particularly for the logging function) I'm just browsing panels at the moment... Thinking of one of these https://www.bimblesolar.com/recsolar300w-TP2BLK To go with the ctek 250ds I snatched cheap... Still need to get...

    Per hour?

To be honest I had the same reaction after a few trips away in the motorhome after the transit... Fitting refillable bottles helped ease the pain BUT Soon as I've finished adding solar/extra batteries I'll be lobbing the gas fridge out and replacing with a, 12v compressor.... Not bad at moment...
