    Service or not?

I'd service..... Especially on one that is used intermittently.... Useful tips on here https://www.letonkinoisvarnish.co.uk/servicing.html

    Not a Self-build, but a Tweaker

Same here when we went from the home built transit to the Moho.... It was a shock.... Lots more space BUT storage wasn't right for us... And not enough electric (battery wise) let alone charging wise... Amount of charging points was laughable.... Getting there now though with more...

What about this as a base vehicle ?

I think I've had my fill of 'character' vehicles.... I've got 5 landrovers.... And IF you think a bit of wax is going to stop a landrover rusting.... I think you may be dissapointed The shine has long gone ;-)

What about this as a base vehicle ?

I very nearly went with the earlier series version (already have 5 series landrovers) However after sitting in one for a very brief period I came to the conclusion that it would have driven me spare.... Cramped and frankly bordering on claustrophobic... The defender platform is OK engine...

    Forum a bit quiet

Probably a combination of things.... 3 linked forums on roughly the same subjects is always a gamble. The whole covid things has stifled things for a, lot of folks... And I've recently sold the self built Transit Jumbo BUT am on with modifying the moHo that replaces it ;-) But that doesn't...

    Compost toilet review

I wonder IF it could be made to work IF you were using A BIO bag dump it idea. I suspect a lot of folks wouldn't want to go the whole compost/humanure route anyway in a campervan anyway....

    Compost toilet review

Read my mind.... Most sensible dog owners have been doing that for years... And frankly little IF any difference with human waste (or any other omnivore waste for that matter)

    Compost toilet review

True.... That's why most folks use bio/cornstarch bags... Same with dog poo bags BTW.

    Compost toilet review

Sawdust (cat litter pellets), coffee grounds, etc etc... The world is your oyster as far as bio degradable covering materials make it a, much greener system IMHO than at worst using nasty chemicals and at best good clean water.... Used correctly and managed properly, composting loos are...

    Pop rivets?

Pop rivets on any large bits of fibreglass are likely to be a recipe for stress cracks and damage. I'd be very very wary of damaging it.

Raised Platform bed - what material?

I like to sleep with the sound of the sea WHEN I can.... As we sleep north south in our van my head is at the EXACT point the window is... Thus lovely surf type noises right next to me ears... I should point out the reason I built it like this WAS to suit my needs exactly ;-)

Raised Platform bed - what material?

We like to have it open for ventilation when we're parked up with the rear doors open... Especially when next to the sea... Simples

Raised Platform bed - what material?

I used mostly 2x2 and 12.5 mm ply (and a couple of pieces of unistrut) To build raised bed and storage at rear of our Jumbo 2

    Solar water heater advice wanted

Black British army water Jerry cans are tough and cheap (and in the roof rack of the landrover got bloody warm in the sun after a while of being jiggled around.....) However the larger the surface area you can circulate the water through the better... Hence the flexible mat types being pretty...

    Solar water heater advice wanted

I was going to fit a multi plate heat exchanger in the heater circuit (enables temp control via the dashboard heater valve) and calorifier And a eberspacher hydronic to warm the engine water when the engines off.... Never got round to it so must stick the heat exchanger on ebay when I find...

    Solar water heater advice wanted

You could stick one of these on the roof and roll it up when not needed.... Surface area is the important bit for efficiency I think. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174313998772
