The IKEA bed had the two side beams plus a centre beam, this fitted in well with their slats. Aluminium profile may be stronger by weight I don’t know, a few on here use Ali though so they can probably tell you, I was just highlighting the wood IKEA use rather than suggesting it as an option 👍

I would look at payloads, work out what you want in it and go from there. I was shocked by another thread on here which is a new box van with only 1 tonne payload. I didn’t realise that box vans were fully insulated and vapour barrier though? Are ALL walls and roof made of composite panels?

4” x 2” sounds a bit ott to me, I had an ikea bed in the house and that was built out of 4” x 1” frame.

That was my first thought when I saw the pic. Some great US school bus conversions, they are too heavy for my licenses so never bothered to look into one for here but really like them :)

If you have a twin bottle system just remove one bottle and pipe and add a pigtail and Calor (or other) bottle 👍

I have onboard wifi so that side is covered okay. I looked at Darrens setup first then checked out GJ yesterday. Darren uses a ‘proper’ cctv setup where GJ has a setup maybe half the price with no onboard recording. Just a web connected camera pointed at the monitor to broadcast/save on the net...

Yes I agree but it’s good that people can understand enough to realise they don’t want to/ can’t tackle a job so get someone who knows what they are doing involved :)

I need to sort out cameras, reversing camera packed in just into New Year and so far not got a replacement working. Not sure if power cable I am trying to use is suffering from being too small for too far but not powering up in situ. Should have some new cable end of this week/start of next week...

Starting from scratch as you are take a look at the combined air and water diesel heaters. Electric water heating normally uses a lot of power. Of course it all depends on your intended use, if only in summer and odd weekends solar will provide a lot. For long stays off grid it’s a different...

Does a new box van as shown in your pics really only have 1000kgs payload to play with? Presumably this is keeping it under C1 license requirements?
