    Chinese or 2nd hand?

I haven’t run it in real world conditions, only to keep warm whilst working on the Betty build. I purchased a new generation eberspacher, and even though it’s bigger than the one in Murky. It appears to use a lot less electricity. I do think if my use was just uk in warmer months I’d buy two...

Victron Multi and 600ah battery bank

Unless the victron info is wrong, I think you need a windows PC to program the Multi's With the Cerbo, David would have a very big grin viewing it on your tv.

    Violating a Princess!

They do work well, but we have to think about the plastic waste. Another thing I found that works well on automotive plastic is Milton's. I discovered this whilst flushing the water pipes into the sink. As I was running the water I thought I'd have a bit of a mop around. I was pleasantly...

    Saving an old seat.

A dangerous thing happened, I had a thought. Are they not two panels wired in parallel? If I could wire them in series? Whilst on dangerous thinking, they could also be used as lithium a heat mat?

    Saving an old seat.

Yes I have thought about it David, but being 24 volts limits my choice.

    Saving an old seat.

New foams arrived yesterday. I will cover these in stockinette first to extend the foam life. Anita purchased some thread and tailors chalk too, so all I need now is the courage to cut out the fabric.

    Saving an old seat.

Betty came with a very sorry seat. As you drove over rough road surfaces, the seat bounced up and down making pedal control fun. That problem was dealt with some time ago. I'd say a simple fix, but with the seat assembled not much fun. This morning last weeks enquiry about new seat foams was...

    Not a Self-build, but a Tweaker

Very good David, but I think that would exceed the freedom my owner allows me. ;)

This is all well known, your point is?

    V5 Motor Caravan

In the past I’ve had a hgv changed to phgv. Also granted a tachograph exemption. Though it still required a plating certificate and a plate displayed. If the same vehicle was presented for a dvsa test after being converted to a motor home, l expect it would be turned away.

    Violating a Princess!

Not a huge amount of progress and only one day available again this weekend. That said it’s finally back on it’s wheels again. I still have to get the wheels aligned enough to drive it to an MOT, but it’s good enough to move it around for now. A bit more wiring put in place for the radio, and...

    Violating a Princess!

Something for everyone to enjoy, only a days work on Betty this week. I managed to buy a trim panel that covers the steering column and top of the pedals. Unfortunately it was for an early model and didn’t fit over electronic throttle pedal. So look up the part number and see if anyone has one...

    Turbo-charging Motorhome Electrics

My expert opinion is that you two need to meet up for a weekend leaving your long suffering partners behind. Then once you’ve worked it all out, go for a few beers in a public place. Then sleep it off. You’ve lost me most of the time, but entertaining all the same.

A strange pricing scheme for LEDs ...

This what I have used in Murky and now Betty. 773-6939 Looks like replaced with these. https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/led-strip-lights/9220963/

A strange pricing scheme for LEDs ...

Keep the spares, many LED's have a very short life. I've had to go back to filaments in Murky due to failures. The expensive branded ones still work!

Now that you’ve had time to reflect on your big adventure David, are you happy with the way it works? Or are you planning on reworking things.

I see what you mean :) I’m still trying to convince myself it will look ok when it’s done. Arty stuff has never been one of my talents.

    Violating a Princess!

After more insulation I trimmed some more panels and tried to shoehorn them in. It’s a right swine trying to find the screw holes. I think everything was fitted poorly originally as nothing fitted as I would have liked. It’s not the smartest work and I’ve never claimed to be a coach trimmer. At...

    VW Crafter MWB Build

I think any good quality pu automotive mastic will be up to the job. With the max fans I used a butyl mastic for the bulk of the sealing only using pu mastic for the outer edge. This way, if you ever have to remove them you stand a chance. The nibblers I’ve used shower everything in very sharp...
