    Violating a Princess!

I've put 24 volts to the board and connected to the VRM portal. All it's telling me is that's it's OK and Inverting with 24.39 volts. I guess I shouldn't be expect much?

    Violating a Princess!

Just when you think your under control, you end up adjusting things. In an effort to progress this project I decided to make blind leaps based on no experience. Don't do it. Even though I had dimensions and CAD drawings of parts it didn't work. I've had to juggle a few things around. Make...

    First things first

With regards to the £100 European recovery insurance, yes it's been tried. First three recovery companies never turned up. Thirteen hours latter one did, big enough to pick up anything. As for the vehicle in the picture, still under conversion and insured with the same company. No reduction...

    First things first

I just saw on a clean air zone site motorhomes being mentioned along side class M1 specialist vehicle (coach and bus conversions over 3.5T) Again PHGV is still HGV you want to be LGV As for insurance I pay about £200 plus £100 for the recovery bit. They know it's a coach conversion and are...

    First things first

I used to tax my 608d as a motor caravan at the post office, until I got reclassified as a phgv. Cost of the road tax never changed. Yes I used to have mine tested at a vosa station.

    First things first

I would still object to a bus or coach being classed as a goods vehicle without type approval. This is why I have left Murky as a s/d bus coach. It’s never been a problem with road tax or insurance. Generally even foreign customs just laugh after asking to see our passengers.

    Fittin upright fridge

My nightly overhead on the 220Ahr batteries is around 30Ahr. The fridge is on all the time. Some lighting will be used and phone/pad charging. If you are low on battery capacity, don't forget to start chilling the fridge before hand on mains for a good few hours. That should help with fridge...

    Fittin upright fridge

That's better than a couple of big wood screws though the bottom of the fridge. ;)

Much better than a chilled response ;)

    Domestic mains Fridges

The funny thing is that when the garage is cold, the weather is doing the job of the fridge! We have an outside freezer too, no problems as yet. We have not had any trouble cooling Murky's in all conditions encountered so far.

    Domestic mains Fridges

I've not been able to find any sensible information on the construction of the fridges. My guess for the higher range it would have better insulation and radiator. I did wonder why you decided to blow, rather than suck? I used fridge vents with covers not only for that reason, but as my...

    Domestic mains Fridges

They are about If you look. I think they are aimed at garage/conservatory use.

    Domestic mains Fridges

A little something worth mentioning is the climate grade when choosing a domestic fridge for motor home use. Many people don’t know about this, but many fridges are designed to be used inside a house. Generally these have reasonably stable temperatures. For motor home use, you should be looking...

    Morning all!

PLG with a weight exemption, I’ve seen v5’s with it done. It’s now a class M2 passenger vehicle, so just change it to Class M1 with a weight exemption.

    Morning all!

Welcome aboard, the last thing you want is PHGV. It was never approved as a goods vehicle.

    Compost toilet review

I think what ever you do, leave no trace. If you are going to dump your toilet waste, dig a hole and bury it. If it doesn’t decompose in a realistic time, use a local waste collection service. Just remember, in the future there will be another Tony Robinson. You don’t want the world to know...

Fiat Ducato Low Loader Conversion Project

I’m seriously impressed with your workmanship. Though based on my experiences I think after you have spent a year or more in it, you’ll be planning on doing another one. Keep up the good work.
