    Violating a Princess!

It doesn't seem like a lot, but it feels like a big hurdle cleared to me. Now that the glass and aluminium panels are in place I can continue to insulate that side and think about building the shower room / WC area. I have already blacked out the lower part of the windows to allow for better...

Sounds like tiny vehicle to me ;) Good luck.

    Heating Van over Winter

This is the little devil that kept Murky damp free last winter.

    Heating Van over Winter

Have you ever thought about how far we've left behind camping in a tent. Carried by a bicycle, and cooking over a primus stove. There was a time when that was considered advanced.

    Heating Van over Winter

I can't remember the name or even where it is, but for last winter when Murky was parked at home it was connected to the mains electric. Both Victron battery chargers spent all their time in storage mode. Into one of the mains sockets I plugged a little heater. 100 or 200 watts. Turns out it...

    Whats occurring

Sorry I've posted so much about rust holes, but I have found a lot :( I've tried to limit the doom and gloom, but older vehicles tend to have a lot wrong with them. Otherwise they'd be in service. I think stripping some of the gloss will show what it's really like to do a safe and strong self...

    Whats occurring

Too much work, it's over-running into Betty Build time :( Also waiting for the new window man to return and fit my windows.

    Violating a Princess!

Sometimes weather conspires against you. A couple of weeks ago I had some new window people remove some more glass. Very quick and the glass was intact. Better than me :( Then it rained and of and on continued to do so. Making it very difficult to repair the frames. The other problem was...

    Not a Self-build, but a Tweaker

If that’s like the ones in Murky, it’ll pressure wash too.

    Home assemble LiFePo4

Thank you for your input chaps. My intension is to use an underside locker. I really should take some measurements to see if they will really fit. At the moment the locker is in a very sorry state due to dangerous tyres being used. The hole in the locker has been repaired, but will need...

    Home assemble LiFePo4

As Betty is running a 24 volt habitation electrical system I will be assembling an eight cell battery, looked after by a 200 amp BMS. At the moment I'm toying with what kind of links to use for making the battery. As the cells are prone to swell, more with aggressive use. (so I read) Some...

    Volvo FL6

I can’t remember where, but I was taught never to use aluminium near batteries. Aluminium frigates or aircraft I guess. With the newer technologies it’s not so much of a problem. Are you going to heat the tray for cold conditions? One thing for sure, I need to up my standards?

    Home assemble LiFePo4

They have been going up in price with global shortages of materials, along with solar panel prices. Still the cheapest option. (if all goes well)

    Home assemble LiFePo4

As a few have already I've jumped on the Chinese LiFePo4 boat. Though reading peoples complaints the Boat might have a small leak. It seems they have been despatched early, but as yet no tracking details. I'll keep you all updated.

    Finshed our conversion

To me that looks perfect, at a glance in the dark it's still a S/D Bus/Coach. Body type is just what it looks like. PLG is good too, depending on how much road fund tax they are asking for. Like David points out it must be over 3.5 tonnes? It can't be PHGV as it was never type approved as a...

    Interesting Comparison of Boards

They might be hard to find, but there are small companies that will laminate almost anything for you.

    Finshed our conversion

If left to there own devices, most people would behave like savages. In an emergency it would be impossible to unpick the mess. You only need a fire to brake out.

    Finshed our conversion

They accepted me, they might even accept Trevor. ;) I think I’ve even been on one of their campsites. I think I will struggle getting the Betty build reclassified, but I want to keep it looking like a coach. So I’m not going to bother.

    Chinese or 2nd hand?

Betty's new eber temperature control is excellent, though I don't like the controller. Slowly getting used to it. I guess with age I don't like change anymore. It's a bit like having a new wife, it takes a while before they feel as comfortable as the last one. ;)
