    Violating a Princess!

This is what I'm using. https://www.melloronline.co.uk/Heater_Controllers/11978/Eberspacher_EasyStart_PRO_for_Airtronic_S2_M2_&_Hydronic_S3_12v_24v_Heaters_%7C_221000352200.html This should be the fix...

    Violating a Princess!

Working inside Betty this weekend brought it home that I have a problem with the heating. No it’s not what you would expect. It’s getting to hot! Because the heater is in the step it draws to much cold air from outside. I’m using the heater’s internal temperature sensor to regulate it, so it is...

    Home assemble LiFePo4

Not really, other than they consider them to be thermally stable. Then I won't be shoving in huge numbers of amps, or dragging them out again. Now when I buy my DAF euro 7 hybrid 7.5 tonnes chassis Cab, I might be using the habitation to aid propulsion ;)

Wow that was hard to stay awake.

I asked a couple of days ago about the cells voyage to England. It seems they are still at sea, but should soon be hiding in a container in a UK port.

The temperature sensor is an option on the smart shunt as far as I know, but I'm sure our friendly expert David will be along shortly to correct me ;)

No I didn't David and made an assumption. They do look like they tick all the boxes, even though they are a little pricey. As for the structure of the internal connections I don't know. Maybe our glorious leader Phil would like to put a hacksaw to one of his?

This was my first thought David, but you need a larger hump than that to relieve the stress on the connector. I was also thinking about high density foam between them too.

As with many cheap Chinese things you don't know what your getting until it turns up.

    Generator talks

It's unlikely to be a pure sine wave, it'll be a digital copy. Don't think this is a bad thing. It'd still play with it on domestic mains.

Ok, bullet bitten. 120 watts of heat pads ordered.

Low and behold the Multiplus made enough mains voltage to turn an electric drill this morning. I guess last night it didn't want to play.

I'm still unsure about the use of heat pads. I may do some experiments to determine the thermal conductivity of the cells. I'm sure I remember on my last visit to Switzerland, a friend had to preheat his little BMW before he could take us out in it.

    Generator talks

I‘m guessing this is a smart generator, and if so it should put out a sine wave. Even if it’s a digital step wave. The victron chargers are I believe to be switched mode devices, And failing that some horrible filter is in the front end they will tolerate a range of voltages and even dc. That...

    Violating a Princess!

Big plans for the weekend, don’t do it! It can lead to disappointment :( Even the toilet was purchased to make a start on the shower room. I realised that some panelling hadn’t been bonded, but before that insulation and wiring was required. Not a small job and it didn’t go well. I used dry...

If you’re going too, just add a small amount to the diesel or paraffin.

    Not a Self-build, but a Tweaker

Using the Victron DC DC charger it should virtually go to sleep once it's happy the 24 volt battery is charged. I found if I left the victron 24 volt mains charger on all the time it did not hit the 12 volt batteries as hard as turning on the charger in the morning. I have the 12 volt victron...

    Chinese or 2nd hand?

I figured out how to change the temperature today without turning it off. Some of these so called designers need a slap! ;)
