We are having Altro in our van...will use some magic mats or similar for warmth though, especially in the doorway. The dog is going to learn to wipe her feet ;) ( actually, Dave will too!)

Never used AF before but had to get a policy for van being converted. AIB were about £150 more and NFU were ridiculous at just under £500! As we will have one shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks! Think it's sorted, putting a panel in with two usb, a cigarette socket and 240v socket off the leisure battery..also got double usb and 12v in the cab and a 12v in the back which runs off van battery

We have just taken our van to be converted and he offered to get a gas Safe certificate once all is done. Did not realise it was unusual but was comforted that he was sure it would all pass. Insured with AF and wasn't told we would need one.

Agree with you that we are too sterile and safety conscious nowadays. Learning the hard way meant that you learned your limits! I do have sympathy with those with allergies but question why they eat out if such a risk. Did see a chap who had a reaction to the smell of certain things, nuts...

Rituximab is great for RA sufferers. Often have a reaction with first dose but usually restart and tolerate it well. Monoclonal antibodies have really been life changing for so many people! And the number of diseases they treat with it are growing.....Glad it works for you too. Ruth

Agreed value policy is an excellent idea....that was another question I was going to ask! The van retailer wanted us to take GAP insurance to cover the replacement value of the van in the first year, but, as we pointed out, it was going to end up worth more than the van replacement cost once...

Finally bought our van for conversion. But trying to work out what to do about insurance while it's being done, needs van insurance initially but then it will be changed on v5 to motorcars an so the van insurance will have to be cancelled and new policy taken out? How have others done this...
