Replacing double swivel with single, citroen relay.

Our trouble is that the relay has a shelf (very useful) above the van cab which is all Dave can see as we drive along! So need a low base on seat...the double seat, I can imagine are easy to get hold of and will probably give it away, but the swivel may be of use to someone who is using the double?

The classic cheesy 'new owners' piccy

Having a son who is 6'9", he is used to always being too long for beds unless one is custom made! He had our previous van with fixed transverse bed and says it is fine as he always sleeps "bent"! Love the look of your van, it looks like it has personality! Love to see inside.;)

Replacing double swivel with single, citroen relay.

We had our van converted with a double swivel on the passenger seat. Unfortunately we regret this as it has raised the seat a bit high, and as Dave cannot drive now ( medical reasons) and is six foot, he hates the way he sits when being driven around. We also thought the third passenger seat...

    Dartcharge for converted van...worth checking!

I have tried without success to change our converted van to motor caravan but apparently it does not look like one ( see other threads). Noticed that dartcharge are still rating it as a class C which is dearer whereas it should be class B (same as cars) as it is a van with side windows...

What jobs did you do on your van today?

Filed the V5 papers! As suspected it came back as van with side windows...... It's a campervan inside unequivocally and if we get issues due to the registration, I have kept all the letters they sent so will argue it then. Or will take it up again once they have " clarified" their rules "which...

    Composting Toilet

Bit late reply...sorry! You need to moisten it as it fluffs up and covers much better...think dessicated coconut rather than chocolate sprinkles!! The idea is to exclude oxygen and start composting not just absorb moisture. It also goes much further. Sawdust works well but was less convenient...

    Budget ideas

We bought a pre-reg van MWB Relay Enterprise for £17000 with 100 miles on clock and paid just under £12000 to have it converted. This was window , 2 rooflights, one with extractor, solar panels , eberspacher, extra leisure battery, fridge, hob, sink and fixed transverse bed with lift out centre...

    Composting Toilet

Just come back to site after a break! We have a composting loo box onboard. It was built using a seperator and we use a bag to collect solids and cover material. Currently using wood cat litter (1.50 for five litres) we store the litter in a cereal container in the garage and just have a freezer...

What jobs did you do on your van today?

Took photos of the conversion to send to DVLA ... Took some extras to show the usb chargers and nets, the chopping block Dave adapted to hold the hob burners in place. Routed grooves in the underside so that the burners sink into the block and don't rattle or move when travelling. Doubles as a...

Mid build and credit card slam dunking it.

I would have thought a 7kw stove a bit hefty for a motorhome! Our static home is quite big and we were looking at 5kw. Have you seen Wendy stoves? http://www.windysmithy.co.uk/woodburners I know several on this site have stoves and they will probably tell you the pros and cons...

    Suffolk Campers conversions

I know most here self build themselves, but other need a little help. Suffolk Campers have done an excellent job for us converting our Relay. Bruce usually does VWs but had done his own Citroen previously and was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic, that we decided to go with him. Very fair...

    We have done it!

Finally got round to posting some photos of our newly converted van! Currently in Spain, testing everything and planning little extra bits which we want added. Bruce from Suffolk Campers has done an amazing job, booked us in for our return to do extras and finish a couple of bits which we left...

    Roof bars l2h2 relay enterprise

Has anyone got recommendations for roof bars? Seem to be a vast array priced from £100 to £550! Can't afford the latter but obviously dont want to buy rubbish. Stainless steel heavier than aluminium but cheaper ...any advice appreciated. Also where to buy!

    Bedding

I think it is so much down to personal taste. We had a foam one made and it was lovely ( think it was about £140 in two pieces, covered with stockinette) But a mattress ready made is easy to get bedding for, and more choice. Our bed was transverse and a little shorter than double so we had no...

    New off topic Chat Room

Everyone must be away for the weekend! Walked the dog with our son and family, in pouring rain.....had to completely change all our clothes on return and dog went straight in the bath! Exhilarating though, and as we all said, we would have been tucked up in the warm if we had no dog...

    Muttley’s Build

Love it! Seems we are more sensible than I gave us credit for, waiting to decide about the table! Amazing, no matter how much you think about things, still get caught out! Just added an extra bit to our plans as I realised nowhere to put teatowels, knife magnet and other utensils. Simple...
