Inverter help needed

I finally got chance to use it today, we went to St Andrews botanical Gardens, we went a few years ago, they had a wonderful butterfly house you could walk around inside and they sometimes landed on you, gone, now they have greenhouses, they're going too, we won't be going again, two 9ther couples said the same.

Scoot worked well on the firmer stuff, even the grass but no chance on loose gravel.

I didn't discharge it much, only went a mile or two, but I put it on charge for the drive up to Arbroath where we are now, and it seemed to be OK, a bit of phaph turning things on and off to ensure i didn't blow a fuse.

What is the correct order / procedure for charging?

Inverter buzzes a bit when charging Bestek 300w pure sine wave.

The inverter says.

Plug in turn on, if green light plug in whatever, so I plug the charger into the scoot and then the inverter, before I get that far the charger shows a green led which changes to red when plugged into the inverter, I do all this with the engine running of course, when i turn the engine off the charger light goes back to green, I'm thinking that's not a good thing and unplug it from the scooter.

To be fair I'd say the method you mention above would technically be the correct way of doing things especially when the inverter load is close to its operating maximum.
Obviously the dash socket is only powered up when the ignition is on/engine running so when you turn the engine off your inverter stops working and your charger light status changes to green because it's no longer receiving a charge.
The scooter charger is presenting a drain on the scooter battery while the green led is on, how much I don't know but unplugging it as you do will prevent any discharge so what you're doing is correct. No need to unplug the inverter though, it wont drain your cab battery while the socket's not energised.

It sounds like you are assuming a red light is bad? Maybe the red light means it is providing a charge?

According to a previous post by Pudsey that's exactly what happens. Green light means connected to a battery (a good un and ready to charge?) And the red light comes on during a charge. When fully charged the red light will extinguish and change to green.
Basically everything is working fine.

No, the opposite, I think the green light is bad on the charger if it isn't charging, just connected.

Sorry Merl I missed your post above...

I don't think the green light is a warning of something bad mate.? Connect it up to ehu, I'm sure it'll be green when you connect charger to scooter and then red while it's charging and then back to green when fully charged?

If you connect the chargercto the mobility scooter without plugging it into EHU or the inverter it has a green led, it goes red when you give it 230v, and green once fully charged, it is the first unplugged green I am concerned about, the inverter seems to be working fine.

Not sure if it was mentioned or not amongst the 58 posts, BLUR but is it more sensible to go from 12v to the scooters 14v more directly, if so how?

To clarify, just where is the Red Light? on the charger block or the inverter?

Mistericeman has provided info about LED colour on the Inverter.

Pudsey Bear has descibed the colour of the LED on the Charger.

talking about both at the same time is a bit confusing
