    Spare wheel?

Me too Darren, when you are in the wilds of Scotland with no mobile signal and you have just hit a rock with one of your front wheels and knackered the tyre, the last thing you want to do is sit around twiddling your thumbs wondering what the hell can you do!

    Spare wheel?

Neither of my cars have a spare wheel, instead they have a tin of gooo in a compartment in the boot. In 'Millie', the width of the spare wheel dictated the depth of the rear garage/shed inside the backdoors as shown in the attached image, the garage/shed also allows me the luxury of carrying a...

    New off topic Chat Room

Well we went to see the amazing bungalow in Leicestershire this afternoon and boy oh boy it is amazing how the darned estate agents photographs had made it look so much better than it was. But mind you it was very nice and the garden was indeed truly amazing, however at regular intervals...

    Engine noise fault finding

My late Dad was an ex REME man and he taught me this technique when I was still in short trousers, but mind you not with a plastic bottle on the handle. Word of serious safety and sensibility warning........... Never Ever Ever work on a running engine with items of loose clothing flapping...

    New off topic Chat Room

No matter how many times we have had to say farewell to any of our beloved four legged friends it never gets any easier to say goodbye! This is the main reason why we have always had several at a time as the cavernous heartfelt hole is somehow easier to overcome. Phil

    New off topic Chat Room

Well Phill, you know how it goes, we love this house, it is perfect for us, however as we have 3 very energetic dogs and as we are used to having a garden of at least half and acre, the garden is simply not large enough for us, so we have this one on the market and are searching this time for a...

Not such a bad day here, so we are off to view yet another property which is not located in our ideal area, but it does appear to tick quite a lot of our other must have boxes.

    Muttley’s Build

I was going to ask what kind of picture was on the jigsaw you bought, it drives me mad trying to find all the pieces when doing a jigsaw with lots of clear blue sky ;) Phil

    Plywood

Same here Darren, I used 4mm oak faced ply for the facings of the entire interior and it simply had to be of the highest quality. That was from Boys & Boden in Newtown when we lived in that area. Now living across here in South Lincs, in our closest town of Grantham there is an amazing timber...

    Wotcha doin?

I went looking at a couple of properties today, but neither of them was anywhere near suitable for us... It would be a good thing if estate agents gave details which were one whole load closer to the truth!

I did almost exactly the same with our 3 spaniels, it might not have been quite so cold but with the wind chill factor, even I was shivvvvvvering! Mind you I have had a momentous weekend of International rugby to feast my eyes on, all washed down by more than a few glasses of the finest malt...

    Plywood

Personally speaking I would never by choice ever buy plywood from any of the major diy stores as generally speaking the quality is dire and the prices are astronomic!! Most towns will have a good wood or timber merchant or even a comprehensively stocked builders merchants. As I have written on...

    What tools?

Errrrr Brett, where did you use super glue in your build? From my experience super glue does give and instant bond but it doesn't have any of the all important flex that is essential for joints in a constantly moving/shimmering motorhome when it is out on the open road.
