Yep it has been the bain of my existence too, most bathroom silicon sealants I have tried simply do not stick to PVC/ABS cladding & shower trays.
I have tried low and high modulus, neutral cure and solvent based Silicon.
Neutral cure Silicon is what we are supposed to use!
I have just ditched...
I saw that post, I don't know why the poor guy even bothered
It's in a yank van and the guy lives in the Southern states so no real condensation issues! his entire build is quite innovative and he probably does not have the same weight restriction most builders over here have.
Unfortunately...
Hmm, maybe one day perhaps.........but not much use in a van or EV if they need to be warmed up to 250C first!

Alex Frood has been sent a couple to test on his this year’s winter trip so I suspect he will give them a good evaluation.
Last week was a fair indication to me of how limiting stopping charging at 0c could become.
My battery also did something else unexpected during that cold spell it...
A lot of manglefacturers churn out stuff not fit for porpoise! Or subject to unsubstantiated claims, there’s a raft of overrated solar panels currently being peddled on ScamBay at the moment either that or they’ve made a major breakthrough in efficiency!
During the lockdown months I did a fair bit of work on local vans and snavarac. I encountered three of those dreadful fake mppt, blue pwm controllers often peddled on eBay that were boiling batteries each one had defaulted seemingly overnight to 24v so were significantly overcharging the leisure...
I think it’s worth pointing out that the firmware in the AMT I bought from wildebus was for whatever reason corrupted and it internally under reads the true battery voltage further interfering with operation.
So without buying the stupidly expensive and dreadfully flaky Bluetooth/app combo I...
Yep, after realising there was something odd with my unit I contacted their suppprt team asking how much the serial interface cable would cost or could I have a pin out as I am more than capable of making one, so I could check the settings after all a cable and a couple of connectiors shouldn’t...
One primarily for @wildebus
I recently bought the annoyingly expensive BT interface for my AMT12 because I could not make sense of the way the unit was performing.
So much so that temporarily I reverted to my tried and tested diode, fuse and lightbulb!
It simply wasn’t doing what I wanted to...
540,000 so just run in, it was a bit, well actually, it was bloody awful cosmetically. I was glad when the owner finally took it home there was something evil growing on the seats and I was concerned it might eat me!
Yep, obviously I wrote that in context to a question about the vehicle type approval category M1.
And the originally questioner did not have an ex service vehicle so I wasn't suggesting he was a ved evader hence the bit specific to him at the bottom.
People buying ved exempt ex service vehicles...
@wildebus this has been an interesting read.
I am also considering Lead Carbon batteries but was put off by the data sheet for the Leoch pure LC because it stated minimum charge temperature of 0c!
For a lead acid battery that restriction surprised me.
So I went off looking at other lead carbon...
Yes provided people are willing to put in the work they make good conversions prospects
the trade had cottoned on to this and the level of bs about them being well insulated and easy to convert is fooling people into thinking they are easy to do.
the best approach is to work on the assumption...
Ps sorry this threads about Autos isn’t it well when I first signed up for this forum I was after a Ducato Auto hence the user name, I never found one within budget and ended up with a Auto crafter instead. I now also have an Auto sprinter as well. The Crafter is the sprint shift setup, very...
I am currently doing a rewire (mass rip out first) of a customers L3 H4 Boxer
it is about 500mm shorter in the van bit than my LWB Crafter, but the head height is brilliant these have a big step up to the cab so I reckon that allows room for a raised floor to put services in and/or there might...
My own two are both ex Ambulances so were serviced every 10 weeks or so and only one owner. I would be a bit cautious buying something without a full service history and or multiple owners that's got a fair bit on the clock!
Imho cosmetically this pug is showing signs of it mileage and despite...
