And when I say make a start I mean on the Van Body and running gear plus remainder of the strip out is first on my list I mentioned previously I had noticed a bit of water ingress from the trim but watching this was a bit of an eye opener The quality of the video is crap but stay with it

And the good news is the Carport (apart from rewiring the lights and an outside socket) is now complete. I had a minor set back some of the Corrugated panels I had delivered were broken so had to wait for replacements. My plan to shift the stretcher lift into storage in my field shelter failed...

@wildebus Thanks for the time & effort you put into your testing. A few days ago there was a 93L Inventor on Ebay which is now sitting in my conservatory :) It has a few dents in it but was advertised as new and only cost me£44 which I think is worth it for the purposes of the experiment. My...

@trevskoda Is a domestic mains fridge a remotely practical proposition in a van? I watched this with interest a while ago he was focusing on 12v v 240v in a narrow boat i.e something that typically isn't being shaken to bits on our wonderful roads!

Happy bunny today Numbers one and three sons helped put up the corrugated sheeting today (not a job one can do alone) on my carport so hopefully by tomorrow/Monday I will have it all finished and then I can move the van into it new home for the next 2-3 months Thinks,,,,, having ripped out...

@Millie Master To be honest I have been quite appalled at prices for some motor home specific items Fridges, Awnings and Remus cab blinds to name just three. Even relatively titchy fridges seem to be around £600+ i.e very similar to the T1090 price wise. Swmbo wants something off the ground...

I am toying with the idea of buying a Thetford T1090 Unfortunately the Thetford web site for some obscure reason does not have a contact page as I am confused by part numbers. I know there was a Mk1 and Mk2 T1090 but I can't fathom out why every retailer lists part number 691668SP yet Thetford...

@Millie Master thanks for the pointer to "Bilt Hamber" I have just been reading about some of their products and I suspect I will try some of their Dynax S50 etc. @Misterg Yes it was after watching and enjoying his exploits I decided it might not be such a bad idea to get my own Ambulance. He...

Brief update, the modifications to the carport (I am raising it up by 4') are progressing albeit a bit slower than planned. Unfortunately some of the original corrugated panels are in a pretty poor shape so I need to replace them once I find a local stockist. Meanwhile I edited a couple of...

@Edina I have not got to the bare roof yet still stripping out the lockers. One of the downsides (if you can call it that) of doing an Ambulance is a heck of a lot of undoing is involved first.

Today much fun in the van having a battle with double sided tape, and a note on water Ingres! Aghhhhhhhhh Today I started removing the lower pvc paneling to get back to the metal work. I have encountered the stickiest, grippiest most tenacious form of double sided tape I have ever known, very...

From a van perspective not much to report - mostly buying stuff to go at roof level, Uni-strut system, vents, awning mount, TV aerial, Solar PV, cameras, lights etc i.e all the stuff I may need to cut holes for. I have also bought some acro props and a much needed scaffold tower so I can...

@Pudsey Bear I have several framing & squares like yours always very handy. I have never tried a Japanese saw however I am impressed by how the Samurai Carpenter on You tube uses his. For a ten minute bit of de-stressing enjoy this: Getting things straight in my vans going to be quite easy...

Post weekend update Strip out continues although I only had Sunday available last weekend As a preventative measure I removed some surface rust & applied white hammerite to various areas in the cab especially in the step areas under the plastic trims. I removed the various lights and other...

Ooo! Lots of ideas here :)

I have to admit my favourite build is this one at the moment, + plus the filming itself is also first class unlike my own rather naf efforts!

Red seat belts again! After soaking for two days I have Red rather than grubby seat belts..... I am easily pleased :) I have also ordered a cruise control retrofit kit which hopefully I can code with my VCDS but otherwise I will be making a visit to Lister's instead to get it done.

    Rear washroom/toilet/wardrobe.

I am at the design stage of my build, I have never owned a motorhome or caravan before so have no experience or hang ups. Right now a composting toilet looks like a good idea with one caveat moisture control in the solids bucket is key to pong control In a van the bog is going to be in a wet...

    Rear washroom/toilet/wardrobe.

A suggestion Using a composting toilet means no need for a big hole anywhere just a small one of a vent fan is used. What amazes me is that the principle is so simple yet some cost £1000 for effectively a diverter, a glorified bucket and a milk bottle or similar! Definitely a cheap thing to Diy...
