Would you be better looking at cheap second hand but bigger mobility scooters and taking a trailer? Not ideal I know but you need something that will get you about

Definitely something not right if you can get up dropped kerbs, I can ‘bounce’ mine up normal kerbs. Battery’s are frequently in poor condition on second hand mobility scooters which is why I said to allow for buying new battery’s in an earlier post. I have a 12V charger for my scooter in the...

    Calorifier saddle needed

I have a roll of stainless strapping like Rae shows and the worm drives so I could make up jubilee clip type strap. Until I remove the calorifier I am not sure if it is possible to get a clip round the feet on the saddle part or not so won’t know if that is an option for a while. Similarly once...

It’s because usually they give you the cheapest, heaviest, least suited wheelchair and they are cheap 😳

    Calorifier saddle needed

I know the stuff you mean but don’t think I could get tension on that where this is fitted. I have seen online you can buy fixing kits using nylon looking straps. I think these may be more for just holding steady in a boat or building although ratchet straps would probably work. Looking like I...

Never thought about getting it welded, the heat won’t weaken/make more prone to snap on thin band stainless?

    Calorifier saddle needed

One of the stainless steel bands on the saddle that holds my calorifier down has snapped. I have been looking round a few chandlers as SureJust who made my calorifier seem to have gone AWOL, or at least their website content does. Anyone know where you can buy the stainless steel strap/saddle...

Don’t know what it’s like near you to get around trying some out, there are loads of places selling them in Hull it seems. Then again I haven’t been used to a choice of shops without visiting different towns lol

Whereabout are you Pudsey. If I can find the mains chargers for mine and battery’s are still good you can have a loan of mine for a few weeks to see if that type is an option. I haven’t had to use it for a while, not since having an injection into my hip but that should have worn off now

    Inverter help needed

As said above you can usually get them cheap second hand but cost replacement battery’s into it. It’s easy enough to break them down but the parts do take a good amount of space to store, that could be your biggest problem. Would an ebike be an option? I used mine on grass and a fair bit on the...

    Inverter help needed

Mine doesn’t fold but the seat removes, this then lets you lift off the battery box (too heavy if left on) and you can remove the complete rear end. Will find a link if I can so you get the idea. I think most, if not all pavement scooters have the same type of break down. Will edit to add link...

    Inverter help needed

Mine is a gogo traveller that cost around £600 new when I got it from CareCo a few years back. Not as easy to move around as yours, have to break it down into components to reduce weight but it did take a lot of abuse. Used in fields, campsites, byways and tracks as well as normal terrain it was...

    Photonics Universe Inverters

Although a factory built motorhome should have been designed and built to have sufficient ventilation so you don’t need to open a window. I usually pen roof vent though to let smells and steam out. A home built conversion probably won’t have been designed to give adequate ventilation though and...

    Photonics Universe Inverters

The conversion in my case isn’t straightforward as driving or genny is running charger(s) to put power in the battery bank rather than anything else. I suppose it could be worked out but beyond me these days. Those new Ecoflow power banks are interesting, they have something built in that...

    Photonics Universe Inverters

They didn’t say anything about what it would do between peak and continuous David. I think peak is a very short time on it, looked at that many though I can’t remember. Main thing on it is getting something that works for lowest cost. As it is only to save a bit of gas (that I only use to cook...

    Photonics Universe Inverters

Update on this. I got a response again from Photonics Universe which I will post below and now feel sure it is probably because they are unfamiliar with how Induction works that they recommend the 1500W inverter. Unlike microwave or similar induction uses it’s stated power so no overhead...

    Legal or illegal?

Glad I dont build anything any more lol. On page 173 it shows a 15 degree angle outwards from light going back 25 metres. Does that mean they would be okay partially obscured as the charts on earlier pages look a lot stricter? Thanks for that link though :)

    Photonics Universe Inverters

I have replied to them pointing out the hob will only draw 800W and I have no requirement for an inverter for anything else as I already have the bigger one. Asked if they mean it cant deliver a constant 800W or if they were thinking it needed extra for start up/cycling. Will see what they say...
