Well Puds wanted to keep it cheap, he's probably not replied to your post cos he collapsed when he opened that link to a £200 B2B.
Probably wouldn't work anyway as more than 24v needed to charge a 24v battery unless he buys a 2nd mttp charger for the job.(more fainting)
I've actually had Flexi panels in the past, I was tempted by the ease of fitting and their light weight. NEVER AGAIN. Supposed to be 100W but that must of been if you were camping on the sun. Never got more than 50W or so each when new and output dropped quickly as they aged, they stopped working altogether after 3yrs, pile of crap.

Hi all, didn't have any 4G most of the time we were away, got back yesterday, hardly used the scooter as the terrain was pants and with solid tyres, it just spun its wheels, then on attempting a disabled enabled entrance the kerb stopped it dead, and it wouldn't run properly after that so I stopped using it, a total waste of time taking it I don't think I got more than a mile out of it.

It's on charge now and after a wipe over and a polish it's getting sold, and I need to consider other options so watch this space for even more stupid questions.

Mine is a gogo traveller that cost around £600 new when I got it from CareCo a few years back. Not as easy to move around as yours, have to break it down into components to reduce weight but it did take a lot of abuse. Used in fields, campsites, byways and tracks as well as normal terrain it was built for. Also used it to get 25ltr water drums to the side of the van.
Mine has the small solid tyres which aren’t made for any off road use so was pleasantly surprised. On loose gravel it doesn’t work and wet grass really saps power and can stop it. Terrain has to be reasonable, pot holes etc cause problems.
Big downside it because it doesn’t pack away like yours and much bulkier battery pack it needs a lot more storage space. It did come in under the weight to go on the bike rack but I couldn’t lift it up there on my own.
Anything more than a pavement type scooter and you need specific storage that a lot of motorhomes don’t have, either a garage big enough to winch it in or a platform/trailer at the rear.
I currently use an escooter, not ideal as it isn’t long before better hip starts to get a bit sore but easy to store and carry. Of course these are illegal in the U.K. unless on private ground or unless hired so I have to watch where I use it. I know you see them all over regardless but if police do decide to Nick you it’s 6 points for driving without insurance and whatever else in fines plus I think they take the scooter (not certain on last bit). This law will be changing before too much longer so may be worth having a look, you can get escooter with a seat as well. You do need to be able to balance.

We went to the Edinburgh botanical gardens a few days ago and Liz arranged for me to use their mobility scooter, a right old crappy looking thing with broken plastic etc but it went really well, it handled grass and gravel, went fine on grass and up pretty decent hills loads of power, but like most of them to wide to go through the MoHo door and doesn't fold, I have two issues really to use one in the van, it has to fold as the hab door is opposite the loo door so a none folding one would foul the loo door, and the weight to get it in and out, I made a couple of wooden ramps which helped but were a bit awkward.

These are the basic wooden ramps I made up, a local company cut and bent the metal parts FOC the wood I just had kicking around.

Mine doesn’t fold but the seat removes, this then lets you lift off the battery box (too heavy if left on) and you can remove the complete rear end. Will find a link if I can so you get the idea. I think most, if not all pavement scooters have the same type of break down. Will edit to add link when I find one

Edit: my model is discontinued so just posting a pic of it assembled and another broken down. I did junk the basket and a4m rest when I got it though
Just noticed the assembled pic shows the 3 wheel version but mine is the 4 wheel same as shown in the breakdown

The ground clearance is pretty bad though isn't it, and all that messing about might make me worse, hence me going for the folding.

I need to do more research but the cost is an issue I don't have the money to buy a new one.

As said above you can usually get them cheap second hand but cost replacement battery’s into it. It’s easy enough to break them down but the parts do take a good amount of space to store, that could be your biggest problem. Would an ebike be an option?

I used mine on grass and a fair bit on the Drove okay but it doesn’t have a lot of ground clearance although it never really stopped me anywhere I thought it may just about go. Ideally you want an off road job but both cost and size are large.

Hmm, that's where this one came from, and it was a dealer, I had two problems with it since buying it and he just refused to help as I had not paid the full asking price, my fault for not getting the paperwork on the purchase.

Thanks for the very kind offer but the space in the van is the problem, and lifting the parts in and out hence having a ramp.

I also have a morbid hatred of borrowing and lending I always seem to end up with it costing me so I just don't do it.

I just came across this one, price is good for a new one, folding, and has a decent range, but is limited to people up to 5'10'' if you are 1'' taller then add a grand.

Ground clearance seems to be an issue too only 1.6''

the woman in this video must have very long legs or the seat is very low

A spare battery is £200 + which would be handy as most trips might be okay with a spare.

Don’t know what it’s like near you to get around trying some out, there are loads of places selling them in Hull it seems. Then again I haven’t been used to a choice of shops without visiting different towns lol

Couple of places in Withernsea if your ever over that way that always have a big range of different types outside....
Biggish one in the centre called Roberts I think...
The other is a private house on the way into the centre that usually has a driveway full of them.

Scoot on hold as we are thinking about selling the van, not sure what we'll get next, might be a PVC or one with a garage for a scoot.

We have two Mobility places in town, but they only sell the expensive ones, you can get help with wheelchairs but not a scooter, dunno why that is.

It’s because usually they give you the cheapest, heaviest, least suited wheelchair and they are cheap
