hi thanks for that. after i asked i did manage to find it .so i shant be fitting anymore in new conversions . interesting that an old conversion that had a instantanious heater can have that one repaied or a new one in its place. . i found out that if the heater is fitted into a sealed from the vehicle box that would be acceptable . .the ones i have could be fitted in some rooms in a house etc ,because they are 11.5-12 kw the legislation is for 14kw or over. . all very interesting thanks for that explains it properly.
though when i fitted mine it was ok. times have changed . cheers alan.

it depends on what you define as a trailer, a "trailer" designed for habitation falls under similar scope has mentioned

I am not sure if I am going ahead after reading your post. Looks like the Truma boiler has won :sad:

But I am not too surprised. The fact that I have seen not one MH equipt with a on demand heater from the manufacturer was sort of a clue.

whilst on the subject of heaters, anybody know where i can get a
12v water heater to mount by my sink, i would prefer this to boiling
kettles when washing up, no gas onboard.

There are a few about. Try ebay for
Eberspacher Water Heater
or
12v Water Heater

You'll see all sorts of kettle and cup heaters but you'll come across something like you're looking for in amongst them.
I think the Eberspacher type with a drop down wash bowl are for people out on the road and they heat the water as you drive along but no reason why you couldn't wire these into your habitation 12v.

I have a 12volt Kettle and it takes FOREVER to boil. And I guess the power consumption is huge (ziggie lighter socket is getting very warm, don't want to use is anymore)

It is what I have.

I think most of the 'new' regs apply to m'home/c'vans made by manufacturers,
after a certain date, to attain latest standards.

I have found a lot of contradiction & ambiguity in the latest rules & regs,
almost impossible to interpret and comply with them all at the same time.

I adopted a comonsense approach, compliance/approval of appliances.
fittings, including tanks certificates of approval, pressure test plating & certificates,
mountings, pipe approval etc etc along with certified checks/tests from a properly
approved lpg engineer, not a household lpg engineer.

All good fun if you don't weaken

If it is room sealed that would indeed satisfy the standards,pretty like a traditional Truma, Carver, It is when you start fitting D61B Morcos etc the problems will arise certainly in terms of legality.

A Household gas safe Engineer is not permitted to work on LPG period>and LPG engineers on houses. Abit of a money spin in the industry IMO principals are in essence the same, it is understanding the differences in Working pressures and ventilation requirements in the main>
An LPG engineer cant work on a mobile home supplied with Natural Gas without and additional module to give a better example (something the people I worked for had to accomodate when we worked in Italy.)
