Considered a dripfeed diesel, but decided on a log burner instead for a few reasons, mostly I can always find free wood, not very often you pick up free diesel....
Understand that....
Though finding decent dry good burning fallen wood can be harder these days than it used to be....
To be honest the drip feed stoves I've had dealings with have been so frugal that they almost ran for free.... Couple of the, boats near me used to collect used oil from garages/take aways to make them even cheaper (obvs with a small aux tank)
I just got fed up with the dust and smell and fickle Ness of a log burner...
Though most I had were pretty tame when you got used to them (they're all slightly different temperament wise and take a, bit of getting used to)
I've a brand new (red so high temp one) dektite fitting kicking around somewhere if you need one for the flue....
I used to use 4" spiroduct for the flue on the boat (naughty as it's not correctly sealed)
BUT was free from work and I'd get about 18 months out of it....
Bearing mind the times I left the damper off the bottom of the fire and had 18" of blue cone shaped flame out of the top ;-)
