Diesel Heater On All Night

The last 2 times we have been away I have kept the diesel heater on all night, in the morning I have woken up and not felt so good: is it a coincidence or do you think it's the heater running all night when we are asleep? Next https://zumbaliciouscrew.com/en/blog/how-to-start-a-beginner-friendly-at-home-zumba-workout/ time we stay out I am going to set the timer to come on at 7 and off at 9 and see if that makes a difference. Has anybody had the same experience?

It’s definitely not something to ignore. If you’ve consistently felt unwell after running your diesel heater overnight, it’s wise to be cautious. While it could be a coincidence, symptoms like headaches, grogginess, dizziness, or nausea can point to possible exposure to exhaust gases particularly carbon monoxide, which is odorless and dangerous. Even a small leak in the heater’s exhaust system or poor ventilation can cause issues, especially in enclosed spaces like a camper or van.

Your idea to test a shorter heating window in the morning is a good one. You could also try running it in the evening to warm the space and then switching it off before sleeping to avoid overnight exposure. Most importantly, if you haven’t already, install a carbon monoxide detector they’re inexpensive and could literally save your life.

Others in vanlife or RV communities have reported similar symptoms, and in some cases, faulty installation or blocked exhausts were the culprit. It’s worth having the heater professionally inspected to ensure the exhaust is routed safely outside and that all seals and vents are functioning properly. So no, you’re not imagining things trust your body and play it safe.
