    Uprating my van weight.

Yes this is one of the advantages of the DVLA being an arshole and you deciding not to bother changing the use. You can as said change your van weight for nowt. Phil P.s. Or as near dam it for nowt, compared to SV Techs price.

    12v cable size

What Merl says is good advice, though I have to say on several builds I've used mains flex split out of the casing using blue for neg and brown for pos 12v mainly because I had reels of it available f.o.c. But as stated I've had to tag the wires both ends to state what it's for. One other thing...

    12v cable size

It really depends on what 12volt systems you intend to power up. Cable sizes can vary by which circuit your wiring I.e. wether it's current heavy like battery feed or current light like LED lights. You would have to give much more information than just 12v cable size required. Phil

    Camper control system

Phew!! I thought it was going to be about 900EUR. Come on lads you can get a lot of cheap tech for your basic 560EUR all using either your phone or supplied display. You have tried your best and I personally don't fault you for trying but it would seem you haven't convinced the motorhome...

    Camper control system

Personally I'm with Trev on this one and perhaps this is the wrong site to try and sell this sort of idea to. While we all love modernity it does bring its own problems, It would seem modern vehicles that use these enhancements are because they are available but not infact necessary and can...

Mercedes 811D Power Steering Fluid ?

ATF is fine I used it in all power steerings of multiple vehicles and makes and have never had a problem. To my mind Mercedes market what they say is the only fluid for their systems but in my humble opinion any damage non synthetic or synthetic oils would cause will be outlived by the natural...

Driving in EU, do I need to tell my insurer when and where?

I think you'll find that it depends on your original policy I.e. some insurance gives you automatic European cover for 90 days but others say you have to inform them if you intend to travel abroad and may or may not charge an extra premium to do so. Our insurance I always make sure we have the...

    Sad Times!!

I'm sorry to hear this Phil, I've only just read your post, to be honest I very rarely read posts on here now I just check in now and again. As to selling Millie I posted some while ago about my son selling his conversion on "Quirky Campers" he sold her for £28000 very quickly, if you google...

Mounting chinese diesel heater on VW T5

Hi Jason, just looked for parts this is the chassis mounting plate you will need from ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/372970011045?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=d712-VbKTEK&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=Ytqc-k-4SQi&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY And this is the pickup unit you will...

Mounting chinese diesel heater on VW T5

Sorry Jason I did that over a year ago, but if you google T5 diesel tank pick up for diesel heater, you will find the pick up that has a far smaller dimension than the standard 3/4 inch pick up, this allows you to fit it in between pick up and return pipes for the engine supply. As I mentioned...

Strange 3 way fridge 12 volt electrical problem

To test the pug just measure voltage at the fridge with the engine running if no voltage then yes the plug could be the culprit. Disconnect the Caravan and test for voltage directly from the car side of the plug. Phil P.s. Making sure ofcourse that you test the fridge/charge wire and not lights.

Strange 3 way fridge 12 volt electrical problem

First things first Tam, have you checked that alternator voltage which should be a minimum of 13volts is arriving at the fridge 12volt heater terminals when the engine is running and disappears when engine is switched off. If there is no voltage when the engine is running then there could be a...

    DVLHey

I've said from the start that electric vans will have to have an allowance made for load capacity due to the very heavy batteries that vans will have to have to allow for load and distance. Can you imagine the problems of organisations like DpD, Amazon, DHL and others trying to get drivers that...

Adding a 3rd seat to 1999 fiat ducato

:giggle: This van has now been sold as he hasn't got the time due to work load and new house move, as there was not sufficient space at the new home to park the van and his and his wife's cars so the van had to go. Apparently the new owner is over the moon with it. Phil

    Water heating connect

Quite frankly I've never had the need for non return valves, all systems that I have installed have been with a pressurised system and out of five that have been installed never has water gone back to the tank the pump valves have been more than efficient 🤷‍♂️ as Mark says with all these no...

    Low solar panel yield

Ahh I notice the float voltage is set at 13.8 volts and on your initial post it shows that the voltage has never reached the float voltage set in your app. Try setting the float voltage down to 13.6 volts over the summer months but initially during winter set it at 13.5 or 13.3 just to make...

    Low solar panel yield

Yes your not wrong on that one Houdini, I have no idea why it has not gone to float maybe as your batteries are showing full charge you should wait till the sun starts shining in spring to see if that changes. Phil P.s. I suppose you have set the voltages correctly in the Victrone app ?
