    Violating a Princess!

From memory we are loosing 5 pieces of glass, and the body being reinforced where the big pains are removed. Where the glass is removed painted aluminium panels will be bonded in to simulate the glass and maintain it's look. Now that it's getting cold and wet my glass man may not be happy to...

Engine Question - LPG / Petrol - Van not running well, HELP pls

That's good then, more than likely there is dirt in the carb. Much easier to clean with compressed air. If it worked before tampering and not after, blame someone's fingers. Also clever stuff hardly ever goes wrong, normally it's to simple to see.

Engine Question - LPG / Petrol - Van not running well, HELP pls

So life is easier as it looks like a conventional carburettor. Just have a good look around to see if any little rubber pipe fittings have been split with rough handling. If all looks good pop the top of the carb, looks like six screws. What you don’t want to see is dirt or debris in the...

Engine Question - LPG / Petrol - Van not running well, HELP pls

Not much hep, but on most carburettors the idle mixture screw is just that. It will have next to no affect on the rest of the range. Without knowing the type of carb I can’t offer any help.

It's true Trev that the colder the panel the better it works, but flexibles can't flap!

The first one I bonded to the roof and it failed a few weeks later! Note to oneself never bond panels maybe? Not wanting to put holes in the roof I bonded Kevlar patches to the roof with studs protruding. When those panels failed the replacement panels were not the same pitch as my studs...

    Violating a Princess!

After replacing a suspension air bag for the first time and then discovering multiple other leaks I was somewhat disheartened. Lots more expense and hopefully reclaiming some fittings, I should have the bits to rebuild it. The steel dog bones, banjo bolts and nuts were bead blasted free of...

I think the trick with the semiflexible panels is to stop air getting underneath them.

Mine our connected in two pairs, during our Dutch adventure I heard percussion on the roof whilst driving at high speed. I think I've lost a panel now :( can't investigate for a while as I managed to brake my leg whilst out there.

There are some weird looking campers out there....

The paintwork has always been murky's let down. Some bugger did a one coat wonder on it, with out using the strip wash first. So every part that needs painting needs even more elbow grease.

    Overland expedition Show

Since I first heard of it a few years ago it's clashed with a foreign trip each time :(

There are some weird looking campers out there....

each to their own. I often see people looking our "Murky" with envy in their eyes. (well I think that's the expression ;) )

    Seating cushions

When I refitted my LWB 608 merc many years ago I used what was called Coach Seat Class Foam. The supplier told me it would be much to hard to sleep on. Some of the best nights sleeps I can remember was on the bed made up from that foam. HM Foam Shelburne road Calne Wiltshire.

    Mixing Leisure battery Types

Having normally purchased batteries in pairs I've always suspected that they are not of the same quality. The last pair I checked, one did not perform anything like the other. If I hadn't had purchased them so close to going away I would have sent one back as faulty.

    Noisy?

I have a 2kw unit in "Murky" the only time we wished for a bit more warmth was whilst we were parked up at Airolo Parkplazt in the snow. Betty the Plaxton is going to get a 4kw unit, but for such a beast it's very laking in nicely placed hidyholes. Obviously it will need servicing at some...

    Noisy?

Thanks for mentioning the location Dave I forgot about that. On our "Murky" the converters left the drivers step in place, though not accessible from the inside I mounted a thetford door in the body panel. So our Ebespacher has a nice little home. Not in the habitation area, but not outside...

    Noisy?

With our air Eberspacher it's noisier than I'd like, but you do get used to it. Most noise seems to come from the air intake. Mine is fed via a foam air filter and a soft reinforced rubber tube. The intake is at the front of the cab near the pedals. Some noise comes from the outlets but not...
