We don't use a fridge with an ice box, for the amount of time we are away from shops the extra space is better for us. Mind you, I do get told of if I've got it too cold and start to freeze things. Since fitting cooling fans in the fridge cooling vent our on times do seem shorter.

Point I was trying to make was the difference in standards. But also it's handy as a guide as to the loading a seat is subjected to if something goes badly wrong.
If you have some time on your hands this might be entertaining. I wonder how many if any commercially built motorhomes comply with this?

Fitted an indicator to our new build "Betty" Slow going undoing the low quality work done by previous mechanics. Hoping to get stuck in to the proper conversion soon.

Just for fun may be?
Trying to find DVLA rules has not gone well, though on my search I came across the CPC rules.
So if you use your PHGV motorhome to carry goodies to a car boot sale you will need a CPC license as you are transporting goods to be sold.
If this is the case your motorhome is now...
Just been having a look at various government web sites and it's interesting how they contradict themselves.
For example my bus project. The body type is S/D BUS/COACH I don't intend to change the body shape though it will gain doors and loose windows the body shape and look will remain...
My Victron 12/800 does not hum when running the fridge or even load it enough to start it's internal cooling fan. That said there is a noise on starting the fridge. I suspect the instantaneous on starting is much higher than quoted.

I went though this pain trying to find a good inverter to start a domestic fridge. I now run an old victon 12/800 and I think it's only just enough to reliably start the fridge. The new 12/800's are lower wattage so I won't risk one and will use the next size up on the new project. I also...
The down side of those heaters is that the fumes can find their way into the habitation areas, they also seem to use a lot of gas for the heat given out. Not experienced one, but I'm told the ones with a built in fan are better at heating.
Plaxton were using polystyrene as insulation in 2000, as I suspect most coach builders were and maybe still are. I do wonder when choosing materials as to what is best for safety, durability and cost. My first conversion was finished in varnished plywood. Wow that stuff burns well. I'd...
Looks good.
My bed design has funny origins, as it was intended for someone else. There was a design criteria. One feature was that it would have to be able to handle extremely energetic sex! Hence it may look a little overconstructed. As it never got installed I adopted it for Murky.
As...
The bed frame is constructed from 1"x 2" x 10g aluminium extruded box. I expect I'll use a company called "Simmal" as they have been trouble free in the past. I estimate I'll need Six 5 meter lengths. They are asking £212.00 plus vat and carriage.
