    'Chinese' Diesel Heater

Maybe I've been lucky, but in all the years I've run my air and water eberspachers I've never been tempted to clean them. The ends of the exhausts don't get very dirty. The air one is often run overnight on it's lowest setting without any problems. Keeping ones fingers out can often improve...

    'Chinese' Diesel Heater

Sorry, but I'm still trying to get my head around the logic behind using an exhaust silencer on the inlet? As a user of a D2 for over ten years now, the only noise I'm aware of is the noise from the hot air pipe. I even have a high temperature section about a metre long in flexible silicon tube...

Glue, screw or both? Sounds like something that would result in a teenage marriage :( Well being an engineer, paranoia is my best friend. Despite it shortens your life expectancy and often takes your sanity. But it's better than messing up. So glue and screw it will be, well glue, nut and...

lf you had two smooth and flat plates, say with a 12" square surface area. (not like Dave's square wire which is in fact round ;) ) Water placed between them. Then pressed together to expel most of the are and water. Seal the edges to stop air leaking back in. Now anchor each plate from...

    Solar Emerging Technologies

This is old news. I read about it a time ago. Still they have not made a panel that in its life time will produce more energy than what was used to produce it. By the time it’s sold, installed and maintained it will be at a great loss. Wind turbines are much worse. At the moment modern...

    Violating a Princess!

You may have noticed in some of my pictures yellow wires hanging around. This is because I have not had the courage to tackle any more professional wiring repairs. It was bad enough getting the indicators and wipers working as Mercedes intended. Yesterday I decided to tackle the problems. First...

The trouble is with so many, if not all of these products is that you can’t control the competence of the user. Also the long term behaviour is often unknown.

Wonder if the folk who worry about stuck on solar panels have the same worries about their windscreens and windows? ;) Anita's Vito had a banging noise from the front of the Cab. The screen was not far from falling out! I think the previous screen fitter let his horse fit it.

It's a very thin coat, handy as a gauge to stop me going too deep into the gel coat.

That was close, just been top coating the roof where the solar panels will be stuck. This afternoons job was to make a start on running the roof wiring. Phew, I could well have ruined the fans. :( Thanks Dave.

Depends on conditions and what we are up too. The hope was by having one in and one out it would make those hot sticky European nights more bearable.

Roof vent number two fitted today. Sadly I had to look on an earlier post to remind myself how I fitted it.

I see you using terminal grease Dave. Would that be the last grease you’ll ever use? Sorry I couldn’t resist.

You'd have to join the site, it's worth doing for the discounts from the suppliers. I covered the cost very quickly.

It will be worth it in the end. Just be careful about the steel you use and adding weight. Also the long runs can distort the body like you'd never imagine.
