Amazing Ambulance Conversion (US) - REALLY AMAZING

Mine was already done when I bought the van but I do have receipts from the fitting of the Eberspacher D4 and calorifier system and it comes to over two and a half grand. My van was set up to be moving every day which must be what that owner wanted. I don’t use my van that way though so not...

    Solar Panel Questions

Your system was exactly what I was thinking of Dave. A raised rack may be better if you have a few skylights as you could fit above them but obviously restrict opening. If only one roof vent or more close together your system is a no braine to me. Can you get raised stand offs for your slides...

    Gas isolation valves?

Thinking about it, in my motorhome all gas appliances except for hob and grill have been removed and replaced with other sources of fuel. I do have the piped manifold with a few blanks. Fairly easy for me to add gas devices if I want to but apart from that I don’t use it. Long gone are the...

    Batteries under the bed

I don’t argue with the recommendation Trev just saying it’s one that is rarely followed by manufacturers or consumers. I have had a couple of new cars in the last ten years or so where starter battery is mounted under rear seat. They do weird things to get weight and space saving in new cars...

    Solar Panel Questions

If I had a van I would definitely be looking at a roof rack/rail system. The way you can fix panels and move if necessary is a bonus. Can you not get clamp on racks still like I see on work vans for yours? Only need one hole for gland box entry that way and may make it easier if you want to go...

New Old Merc and Needs a Good Clean

Do you have electric window? I noticed on mine that when I get out of the van I sometimes catch the button and put passenger window down an inch or two. Used to think itwasCaz until I noticed it a few times on my own. I now check every time I get out.

    Solar Panel Questions

If you can get the panel off easily it will have (rather should have) a special plate on the back of it. Dave May be blue to tell you without doing this though

New Old Merc and Needs a Good Clean

Not had to touch my normal heater, only looked at the addition Eberspacher and not got anywhere with that. If you need a manual you will get one on Sprinter-Forum.com, don’t be put off by it being American. Ask any questions, ours are T1N vans I have downloaded bits so if you want to message me...

New Old Merc and Needs a Good Clean

Obvious I know but was door and window properly shut to? If you push against the door when it’s shut is there and play? Folks on here should be able to help with water heater I would think, sounds good then, everything there to start with 👍

New Old Merc and Needs a Good Clean

    Automatic?

There is or was a place near Stockport that specialised in auto boxes. I have had autos in everything except bikes since 1978, coppers didn’t like me using a walking stick for one pedal in manuals, would t accept it was a ha d control lol. My van is a Sprinter base with the six speed sprintshift...

Balancing Batteries / Mixing Types in Battery and Solar - Problems, Issues & Solutions ?

To be honest if I have electrical queries I just ask Dave. I thought I knew a bit about 12v electrics from years of bikes and messing with cars but had o think again when it came to the van lol so much I hadn’t come across before. I can’t afford the stuff Dave would use normally but his advice...

    Batteries under the bed

I guess there must be some out there but I haven’t seen this done in any car, van or motorhome as they are sold new Trev, or bike come to that. It seems o be something that’s ignored. Original battery location on my van was an outside locker lined in metal but not sealed and cold in winter so I...

    Batteries under the bed

It is a 2007 van and I think Del said the dealer he bought it from fitted it.

Balancing Batteries / Mixing Types in Battery and Solar - Problems, Issues & Solutions ?

I have only used same panels together so don’t know. I know it can depend on panel voltage and controller but Dave is the expert here.

    Batteries under the bed

I was surprised when Del showed me his Banner LA battery directly under the pillows in his Adria Twin. That’s a factory build, didn’t seem right to me but I assume it wouldn’t have gotten type approval if it wasn’t.

Balancing Batteries / Mixing Types in Battery and Solar - Problems, Issues & Solutions ?

If I wanted to do this I would just fit a cable between both banks with a battery isolator switch so when I want to charge the LA I turn switch on and let them equalise. I think that would work but don’t mine being corrected if not 👍 I would treat whatever I powered from the LA as separate...

    Gas isolation valves?

Phil if you know the technically correct way why don’t you do it? At least you will know it is correct not only for you but anyone who may own it after you. Why cut corners?

    Gas isolation valves?

My gas and diesel heating were both done by people with correct certification so I am not worried about it but only just seen it mentioned. I do agree that most insurance companies don’t have a clue though but something must be prompting them to include it. I remember Charlie saying he had...
