    Sprinter switch removal

I have been trying to remove a dashboard switch in my Sprinter based van but can’t feel it releasing. So far I have been using strips of old credit card like I used to do with my Vauxhall’s without any joy. I do have the instructions for dismantling the dash but that seems a bit ott just to get...

Cheap Little Battery MONITOR - But How Good Is it ?

That’s how i thought it would be doing it David 👍 I don’t need anything really to monitor the starter battery (Bosch PowerFrame) it’s just I disconnected the horrid little digital clock in the dash as it annoyed me and I thought this may be similar size (isn’t now I have measured). I noticed...

Cheap Little Battery MONITOR - But How Good Is it ?

How does it know when the battery is 100% @RAW, is it similar to the Victron monitor that you have to set parameters? If not what does it do when charging, does it show 100% then drop to real state when charge source off? looking at the size it could fill the cut out a previous owner made in...

Don’t think it tests anything, think it’s just a cheap monitor

    Solar Panel Questions

I thought the flexible panels had to be stuck down so there is no movement/air getting under them? is it an option to get more small panels @RAW (rigid) and fill the space with those? Can’t remember where now but saw some 50W Victron panels cheap a couple of months back. I know it’s more cables...

    Upgrading tyres

All I ever had to do when modding cars was inform the insurance company. If you are fitting a wheel size the manufacturer doesn’t offer it may be different I don’t know. Of course whatever you fit has to be capable of taking axle weights, I found a lot of 3rd party aftermarket alloy wheels...

VED Changes - 705% Increase to NEW Motorhome On Road Tax

I never really read into this but wasn’t the change made to bring PVC and motorhomes into the same bracket as luxury car tax? Hard to argue they aren’t a luxury really but maybe should be a way to refund this for full timers as it is a home rather than luxury. Won’t happen thougH lol

    Upgrading tyres

Is it same weight with the different suspension or is it to up plate the axle weights? That’s the normal reason for updating tyres and suspension I think

    Solar Panel Questions

No idea what sort of radius is on your bus Greg but is it an option to mount rigid panels around the curve a bit like the vikings made a turtle shield wall with shields? Not sure I am describing what I mean very well lol

    Upgrading tyres

I thought I would have to go to 16” rims to get a tyre that would take the loading. Was always easy with cars but I struggled to find anything for the van. There were plenty of 5 stud van Ali wheels for under a grand but they weren’t rated for the axle loading I have (rear that the biggie). If...

Mixing AGM and Wet Cell Battery Types

Not sure who this was aimed at but if me then I knew how to do capacity tests and did them on the battery’s I took out with son in law last year. If it wasn’t me then ignore this 👍

Mixing AGM and Wet Cell Battery Types

Yes it plays with your head a bit when a battery works extremely well to start but has lost capacity lol

Mixing AGM and Wet Cell Battery Types

Mine did take a lot of abuse, when I realised they were losing capacity I was still off grid and solar wasn’t giving enough each day. When you have the choice of freezing in the dark or damaging the battery’s then I am afraid the battery’s lost. I didn’t have a generator then and have been in...

Don't leave Sikaflex EBT+ open in the air !! SEAL NOZZLE AIRTIGHT

Best thing to do is contact Sika technical department, tell them what you are wanting to do and ask which product is the correct one. They are very good at responding, or were when I asked about solar panels.

Air Suspension - Anyone using it ?

I had a lot of people asking me about being affected by passing big vehicles and wind, they all said Sorinters suffered from this. I don’t know if it is only certain models or not or if it is the rear air but my van is very stable.

Mixing AGM and Wet Cell Battery Types

Going of that I would guesstimate around 20 amps. Was just the I had 3 x 90ah PowerFrames and my useage pattern killed them in a little over 12 months. I draw 65 amps a day, am always in the van and very rarely use hook up though.
