  1. Calorifier system

I looked into setting a thermotop onto a calorifier. The TTZ is the one with no pump and relies on the engine pump, these are used both as preheaters but also as heaters due to engines so efficient you can't get enough hot air to heat the cab. These all link into the vehicle canbus and can't be...
  2. Bit of encouragement needed

This is me currently. Not only do I need to do the build, I also need an engineering degree in electronics to figure out what's going on. It's amazing how many grand ideas you start out with and slowly whittle away as reality dawns.
  3. Junkers Bosch 10 litre electric heater

My plan is to wire it into something like this. You can set this timer in 5 min increments, so I can set it to 30 mins, so the heater will come on and I can forget about it when I know my power levels are good. https://www.screwfix.com/p/elkay-3-wire-master-push-button-white/34572
  4. Junkers Bosch 10 litre electric heater

That Redring one looks good, but it's rated a C where the Junkers is either a B or A depending on whatever the below in Spanish means. My inverter is 2kw so the ariston is out for me, I'd imagine this is the case for many being right on the edge like that. I'll keep the redring in mind if I feel...
  5. Junkers Bosch 10 litre electric heater

Still on my water heating crusade. I read a (old) thread where Junkers were mentioned as good heaters. I stumbled on this 10L Junkers Bosch water heater on amazon that comes from Spain. I can't find it anywhere else, but seems like a really good price, less than half the price of the Propex one...
  6. Mercedes 813 - Early 80's Diesel - OM 352 Engine

Whilst hiking the Welsh mountains in the rain I had a land rover go past belching out fresh fish and chips smell. I was murderous.
  7. Truma Therme, the answer to our prayers if we have blown air

They're £150 from rainbow conversions. The only downside I can see is they need to be run in an un-pressurised system, so micro switch taps and submersible pump. Not sure that's a huge problem, need to thing about it. It's either this or installing gas just to get hot water, which I was...
  8. Truma Therme, the answer to our prayers if we have blown air

After many hours or searching for calorifiers and all sorts of methods to heat hot water I've finally found the perfect device for those of us with blown air heaters. The Truma Therme sits inside the heating duct and provides hot water, and includes a 300w immersion for summertime solar use. I...

  13. Automatic?

No it means vans made by either Peugeot, Citroen or Fiat, which is basically the same van. They make a L4 version which is 4T
  14. BiFacial Solar Panels

OK I understand now, thanks. (y)
  15. BiFacial Solar Panels

Here's a couple of the max input watts for 2 models of the EPEVER for interest sake. TRIRON TRACER - Probably the one the OP has I don't think Victron controllers can handle over current. Anyone else know? But as Wildebus pointed out, look at the manual as they all differ, as the two...
  16. BiFacial Solar Panels

I'm planning on fitting these width ways on a Sevel L3. I haven't done any measurements yet so it might not work, but if it does, then 2 of these would outperform any 315w bifacial. https://www.bimblesolar.com/solar/large-panels/270w-perlite-54cell-small You'd be ok with your controller still...
  17. Split Chargers - B2B & Relays: Which one - or Both?

I have a related question to do with lithium batteries and split charging. Imagine the case study: 200A alternator on Euro 4 van 200ah lithium battery with 200A separate port Daly BMS which provides 200A discharge protect and 100A charge protect. The lithium battery has a max charge rate of...
  18. Calorifier

Is there any specific reason for the electrovalve switch? Since the whole unit is insulated I wouldn't see a problem with it being permanently connected, it's only excess heat in the summer I could envisage as a problem.
  19. Mercedes 518 base van

Check out the passenger door lock. Security shouldn't ever be a worry.
  20. Tinted windows 70% or 80%

Tint % is the other way around. What you want is called "nano ceramic". This is the most expensive tint, but the majority of the cost is labour anyway. It reflects the most amound of IR radiation so it keeps your van much cooler. I have 15% tint all around on mine and it doesn't make it dark...
