    split charge relay

there's [at least] 2 ways to do a split charge one is to just use a smartcom 40amp relay on its own ,using 4-6 mm wire to connect the leisure battery to the van battery another, more effective way is to use the smartcom relay to operate a much more powerful 100amp relay, making it possible to...

    Diesel air blown heating

as I was having probs with my webasto,I put a Morco heater, similar to a Carver Trumatic in the bottom of a cupboard . I have since fixed the webasto and it's not too noisy. but having both in place I decided to compare them. they both got the van from 3 degrees to 22 degrees in about an hour...

    Toilet room size, help please..

the usual measurement is 700mm from the wall, this is the size needed for a cassette toilet, and these toilets have been designed by people who have worked out how much elbow room you need to wipe your bum. the length can be variable but I'd say, having built loads of them, that 850mm is about the...

Bodyside Windows -Installation DIY or Professional?

one advantage with seitz windows is they can be top hung or sliding. top hung means you have a window open even when it's raining, plus it's an escape route if that concerns you.personally I went for second hand, double glazed, top hung ,tinted caravan windows.cheap as chips and as effective as any...

Bodyside Windows -Installation DIY or Professional?

bonded windows are fairly easy to fit,cut the hole and glue the glass in place with the recommended mastic-sorted.only single glazed though.seitz windows are double glazed, come with blinds and fly screens and quite importantly, open . not cheap, but easy to fit. they do small or big windows.

Water heating for washing and showering.........

this is why a coil of black pipe works better; the water doesn't slosh about and the heat absorbing area is massive compared to the diameter of the pipe. also on a hot day even once the heated water has been pumped out,the cold going in has warmed by the time it's travelled 50 metres ! and the...
