    Violating a Princess!

The plaxton door should be a good fit once it's aligned properly. Murky folding electric doors work well and has a good lock. I did start to make a drop bar for the doors then decided it was over kill. The weather seal does not look wonderful, but you don't get any bad drafts. The way I...

    Violating a Princess!

I've seen pictures of the mechanism used and it seems overkill. Murky has electric folding doors and on the whole they work well. Not that hungry either.

    Violating a Princess!

Finally managed to crawl underneath and fit the air suspension again. Cleaning and painting will have to wait until the weather is better. Big question … Air Door! I was planning on repairing the system that operates the air door. Is it necessary? The door functions as a normal swing door...

    Permanently fitted leisure battery charger?

24 volt starting. 2 x 12 volt 90ah So using one charger on each battery to keep them balanced. 12 volt habitation 2 x 6 volt 220ah The remaining one for emergency use on this. As all the chargers were the same, if a problem occurred they could be swapped or moved. As it happened they never...

    Permanently fitted leisure battery charger?

Ha ha, how did you guess? I think there is only one charge lead for each one.

    Mitsubishi Fuso/Canter

So has anyone thought of using a chassis cab version of one of these. They don't seem to be silly money new. They even make a "Rosa" Bus/Panel Van Version but not for the UK I think.

Top End Mercedes HGV Truck, like Band Touring Vehicle

I expect you'd be turned away from a lot of campsites with that. Then with a car garage in it you'd struggle to convince someone it's a motorhome.

    Permanently fitted leisure battery charger?

Yes that's the ones, but I don't want anything like that for them.

    Permanently fitted leisure battery charger?

TecMate TM202 12 → 24V 3.5A Battery Charger, with EURO, UK Plug At 12V they are 7A I would say they are about 5 years old, but Anita could look that up I expect. I have 3 of them. I think they were about £150.00 each. So make me an offer. I thing I have learnt though is disconnect them from...

    Permanently fitted leisure battery charger?

I'm about to upgrade Murky's Mains charging to Victron units Blue Smart IP22 Battery Charger 12V - 15A 1 Output for the habitation batteries. Blue Smart IP22 Battery Charger 24V - 12A 1 Output for the Engine start. If my calculations are correct, due to the new efficiency I should be able to...

Should I change my solar panels from parallel to series?

After torchlight wiring Murky now has 2 x 3 solar panels with the series sets running the length of one side of the roof. Some wiring anchoring still required, but it's good enough for test. Assuming the sun will pop out to say hello today..

    Wind Turbine ?

Thank you very much for the offer, but at the moment we struggle to work out what's happening from one day to the next. I'm hoping to brake our rally virginity at Hereford, if I can gain some control by then. Before then I have some errands to do in Dorset and then onto Somerset. I'd like to...

    Wind Turbine ?

That would have been another solution, but it's interesting watching the current drain depending on what your doing. I should have should have fitted a BMV earlier, but it was a pain to install. It might turn out it's the power doors, but I wouldn't have thought it would have been designed...

    Wind Turbine ?

Whatever it is, it behaves like a big capacitor is being charged. You can even watch it on the BMV. I removed all the radio gear from when it was an ambulance. New alternator. New starter motor. Still not found it. I've asked Mercedes and they don't have an answer for what it is. Easy answer...

    Wind Turbine ?

It's a bigger Mercedes thing, though my 608 never suffered from it. They have an isolator switch for the batteries, but when it's switched off neither the alarm or doors work. The funny thing is, the colder it gets the more it consumes. The Plaxton has it too, though I don't think everything...

    Wind Turbine ?

This was my discovery after fitting the BMV on the engine start batteries, it's natural drain of about 5 watts was enough to drain heavily in a week :(
