Do you carry a scooter or motorbike in your garage?

I was writing about calculating overall weight on a brake tester at an MOT station. I know my theory is sound as I have to take similar measurements at work and it doesn’t take much to throw the numbers out.

Do you carry a scooter or motorbike in your garage?

With the company I use for MOT's their brake tester is connected to the DVSA and they are never sure of a pass until they receive the results back. When I used to go to a ministry testing station I was advised to have as much weight on as possible as it increases the accuracy of the tester. As...

    Not a Self-build, but a Tweaker

I struggle to see that a 93.6Ah drain is 80% of 100Ah’s ? With Betty being 24 volt I do get the luxury of stable 12 volts. One thing I have noticed on Murky is that because I keep the engine start batteries charged, I tend to blacken the small lighting bulbs faster than expected.

    Distribution Board

Thanks for mentioning this David, but I guess however long it is I'll have to deal with it. Hence I haven't trimmed any supply wires so far. Phew!

Gas Combi Boilers, who's got one...???

The demolishing and the infrastructure is important. In my mind makeup washes off.

    Distribution Board

If I loose the Bluetooth connection between the MPPT's, will that stop them playing nicely? Using the Multiplus temperature sensor will allows it's charger to compensate? I'm not so worried about the MPPT's as the Solar has to go to bed at some point, then the batteries get to rest if the...

    Distribution Board

Again I thank you for your concern, and it will get worse when the distribution board get boxed and doored. Even the Multiplus is overspec'd for my use. I'm hoping any warmth will create an up draft and self cool. I worked on a similar setup many years ago after the Falkland's war. We had to...

    Distribution Board

I’ve been waiting for someone to ask. With the furniture I have on my roof panel performance can be compromised. The panels are arranged in three groups. The hope is that a poor performing set won’t compromise the others. The fourth controller is for winter harvesting with portable panels...

    Distribution Board

Thanks for the pointer, not there yet. Just had a disaster with the postal service. All post held for about a week, only about 50% turned up. :(

    Distribution Board

Alec, I thank you for your concern, but based on experience I’m happy I will get away with it. Each mppt has twice the rating that it will be subjected to. The board is fire retardant, but if it even got warm enough for me to smell it I’m in trouble. I’m running a 30/100 in another vehicle and...

Do you carry a scooter or motorbike in your garage?

Stainless against steel is a big mistake. The stainless has a galvanic reaction with the steel if it gets wet or damp. I was horrified when cutting into my plaxton cheetah. The stainless was fine, but the steel touching it crumbled in my hand.

Are these the ones that pull combustion air from inside the vehicle?

You could use big eyelets before they are crimped.

    Violating a Princess!

Back in Betty’s bum, a little progress (mess). In another post I’ve toyed with a distribution board layout. It was a good exercise as it highlighted problems. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, so I screwed some pressure treated battens to the body and attached the board. Not many toys...
