Seating and Sleeping setup (MH2) - complete - Regal Upholstery

People are generally stupid, you need rules to control the chaos that would ensue without them. That said, many I don’t agree with. I knew a lad from school, I didn’t really like him. His dream was to be a HGV driver. You have to start somewhere, so he had a delivery job with a panel van. On...

Eberspacher D2 Controller Chinese RCL Swap

Eberspachers purchased for stand alone installations don't care where they are installed. OEM installations are generally integrated into the climate control system and have a controller designed to suit the manufacturer. These often can't be removed and used as a stand alone device. Just by...

Eberspacher D2 Controller Chinese RCL Swap

I've not played with the Chinese heaters, and suspect the controller is digital. The new generation of eberspachers are supposed to be digital to make them easier to integrate into modern vehicles.

Eberspacher D2 Controller Chinese RCL Swap

So now you want the pin outs from the controller your planning on using. Looks like you just need 3 wires to start and stop it.

Eberspacher D2 Controller Chinese RCL Swap

Just lookup the pin outs. From memory two wires power it. To start it is a momentary contact.

When I see those I think a strong wind would bend them! If everyone thinks they are fine, maybe mine will be overkill. Do yours stay up for any length of time? Mine go down in a day or so :(

    Consumer unit.

Anita just phoned to complain and was told they haven't had transparent covers for years :( So said we'll get a full refund and get to keep the plugs. We'll see. So looking at the cap design it's going to need a 3 piece mould. Scrap that, I now have some with clear covers on the way. :)

Unfortunately I was conned by RS services, not only did it not have a transparent cover. They first claimed that it was free delivery until you checked it out! I don't care about the money, it's the deception that makes me angry.

Build your own Lithium Battery ?

I estimate from manufacturer to retailer there is a 50 - 100% mark up. Once tooled up, it's not that hard to do. The daft thing was my calculations showed that you only need half the volume of a retail battery. Then the penny dropped. They have double the capacity of cells required. Then...

Build your own Lithium Battery ?

5 seconds in and I decided I'm not doing 40 minutes of that. I priced up making my own a year or so ago. I think the break even point was about six batteries. The one thing seldom never priced in these things is the cost of their labour. Most work for free. If you want to work for free, call me!
