New Build

My Iveco has gone to Rust in Peace, the dreaded tin worm strikes again, and apparently, rust is the Achilles heel of this otherwise fine vehicle. So after looking around I put a deposit on a Fiat Ducato, but on its way back from MOT, a quarry wagon dumped a load of rubble on it, and eventually it was declared a category N write-off. My deposit was promptly returned and I found my next van which is a Citroen Relay. I had to catch the train to Blackburn, then drove the vehicle home, and strangely it turns out it is a Carlisle vehicle being supplied originally by Telfords Of Carlisle. Fate or what? So the build begins, but I am at the mercy of the weather at the moment, so initial progress is slow. One of the first jobs I had done was to get the tyres changed over, so the van now sits on BF Goodrich's. Repeated from Motorhomer

Well today is Sunday and it's flippin freezing, so no work today, and tomorrow I need to go to Wickes for some 9mm ply and some 18 x 28 sticks. Need also to do a shop for food as well, but trying to stay as far away from people as possible. I will not be buying bog rolls and if I do run out, my bath will become a temporary bidet. Possibly an early start will be required.

It's a surprise, just how many coloured vans are available....not many at all, but white ones....take your pick.

Mon 23rd, I need to go out for a food shop, which I am dreading, going to Asda, hopefully in the hour set aside for the elderly, and at risk. Don't know if it's 8am- 9am or 9am-10am. Then onto Wickes for more timber, then home for another week, but at least I can go for walks with my dog, to keep my sanity intact......nearly.:devilish:

My most beloved now has her shopping off to a fine art. We normally shop with Tesco and as they are a few miles away she arranges for a delivery on a weekly basis, now with the Covid 19 crisis, she has her deliveries all arranged for 10am each week and has them booked up to 5 weeks in advance, so the Tesco teams pick and pack at approx. 6am which is prior to the store opening and after the shelves have been stacked after the overnight deliveries.
Yes we do get a few items substituted but in general, so far, we have been receiving what we have ordered.

Well my build continues at apace.....a very.......very........slow pace, but I have cut three holes in it and a few more will have to be cut. At the moment I am concentrating on getting the batteries in and the solar up and running, then all the batteries will get charged up. All this parked up for long periods is hard on the engine battery. I've had the engine battery out and cleaned everything, had the passenger seat out as well, ( the filth! ) and finished the lower part of the insulated bulkhead.
