new batteries

Mad Manx

I've decided it's time to replace my leisure batteries
So can anyone recommend a replacement that can cope with a Trumatic gas heater and a 12 vot LED TV as well as the usual pumps and LED Lighting
I currently have a 95 amp Suppercharger and a 8amp 240volt charger . I plan on fitting 2 80 w solar panels next month

Hi, after my research my finding are that if I was to replace my batteries they would be either US2200 or the equivalent Trojan battery. These are 6 volt batteries but wiring two batteries together (+ to - on each) will give you the 12volt battery bank. These are VERY deep cycle batteries with the thickest plates on the market and the best performance I have found.
Hope that helps.

My set up is 2 x 110amp batteries with 2 x 90 amp solar panels and this copes with all my needs ie: tv, lights, heater and so on, and not been on EHU for a couple of years know, hope this helps.

T-105s are great. I think they're the battery fitted to the G-Wiz electric car, so are a proper traction battery. You won't go far wrong there. Pity they won't fit :(

I have had 2 of these batteries for 4 years now. Still going strong but I have solar, which extends battery life due to less discharge.

if I raise my seats high enough to take those I would be hitting the roof !
pity , as that sounds good value

I dont have the height fro these batteries, so I'm going for the 27TMX Trojans that will give a similar output in a more conventional size

Mad manx, one problem is we don't know what sort of RV lifestyle you are contemplating - full timer that is out on the road for weeks or months at a time or weekend warrior that might do one session of three weeks on vacation plus a couple of weekends every now and then. Then for each group there are full hookups every night, full hookups at least one night in three or four, and then there are those who spend weeks or months without getting anywhere near mains hookup. No single solution is correct for this whole range.

For one of these classifications the cheapest throw away discount starting battery will likely provide the most cost-effective solution. At the other end of the scale, the best deep cycle batteries plus lots of solar would be very expensive but actually prove to be the most cost-effective on a per-night basis. Then there are AGM and Gel and conventional and also LiPO4 ( or did I miss some letters or numbers) that are now available and are highly regarded by at least a small band of early adopters in Australia.

Don't forget that all normal vented flooded-cell batteries need to be sealed from the living space and properly vented to the outside and while some batteries have provision for vent tubes, most others do not so the whole battery compartment should be sealed and vented.

I am curently full timeing while my house is being rebuilt. The builder has said i will probbly be home at the end of January. I have no direct acess to mains power other than taking the bateries off and charging them at work which will run a bit thin if i abuse it.
I plan on fitting two solar pannels from my old coach conversion next week and if time permits the Taylors drip heater as well. I have a big internal compartment for the batteries that has floor vents to the outside and rachet straps for battery securing .
once i have sorted out what batteries and sizes i will seal all the sides of the comptment and put an edging seal on top edges with hinge and case clips to seal the compartmet tight.
I am on a tight budget but i am also dont like cutting cornners if i need to spend £600+ on batteries as a long term saving i will.

Got em from the 2nd link. think they are due on Monday.

I bought 6 t-105s some months back and got mine from tanya batteries who will match and better the best quote you can find even if its only by a quid cheaper.Just worth bearing in mind their price match guarantee to anyone else considering buying batteries.
