That looks like a bargain. In your picture it looks like you have a external temperature sensor. The heater also has one in it's air intake. This is the one I use in Murky. I'm planning on doing the same with Betty. Mine has cost me £1200.00 :(
This is why I bought a new Vito with the latest diesel engine and probably the last new design. Should outlast me as long as a mechanic never touches it.
Because of any potential worries, I put a Mppt on each strings of panels. I even have a spare Mppt for future portable panels.

One thing that I did think was misleading was that due to pulley sizes the alternator generally runs at twice the speed of a low revving Diesel engine. Mind you Anita generally doesn’t get above 2000 rpm in her van. I also suspect that most alternators are better than 50% efficient. If it’s true...
