Drive away awning for a LWB H2 Renault Master

After umming and arrring for a long time, my most beloved has decided she would like to have a drive away awning for my 'Millie'!

As the van is fully finished, I don't want to drill any holes in the roof for awning rails or similar so that for me rules out any roll out awnings, unless I am wrong. So ideally I would like a very easy to erect awning that has a kind of gusset that you secure in place once we are parked up after a day out discovering the surrounding area.

All ideas, names, brands and even links will of course be very well received.

This is on my mind. If I want any kind of dog house or porch over the entrance door, now is the time to do it whilst the inside of the roof is exposed.

You could attach an awning rail using adhesive. Wouldn't need to screw it in. I would rely on glue alone for a roll/wind-out one but to just attach something when stationary, no problem.
In the VW world an option widely adopted is to throw guy ropes over the roof and secure on the other side of the van. Or use magnets and/or suckers.

I used to have a Khyam (Khyam?) Motordome Sleeper drive away awning. I never actually used it as a drive-away, but that was good. Basically a quick erect tent with a corridor with a section you connected to a rail with a kador strip and figure-of-8 pieces, easily adapted to use any of the earlier suggestions.

I think that kind of thing put me off that type a bit (as well as being twice the price!)

Yes thay look great, and like all awnings there is good points and bad points, it's working out what is right for you and that's why I think it was a good post to put up to get feed back from

So OK it's not going to be an inflatable awning (although a friend has one he bought from Decathlon and he loves it) and I don't fancy using a nearly vertical sided gazebo as there is no way of getting any kind of remotely close fit to the sides of the van.

As this is the case I hope I can find a suitably large awning with straps of some kind for throwing over the roof etc.

hmmmm, I had an inflatable tent back in the late 70's and it was brilliant, was canvas as well and no light weight. Modern stuff should be at least as good with improvements in technology. If its one report of one burst awning i wouldnt pay too much heed to it. Decent brand shouldnt give problems if that type suits

I have a friend who swears blind by his Decathlon (Chinese) blow up drive away, but it is a tad too low in height for an H2 Master.
