    Some Gas Help Please ?

Robert that is a solution, but a very dodgy solution. The whole point of the thermocouple is to keep the pilot alight and allow gas flow through the gas valve if the pilot light gets blown out accidentally you will still have gas flow through the burner but it will of course not ignite. Your...

    Some Gas Help Please ?

Just another thought Rob, have you got other appliances using the gas like a gas ring or oven and if so are they working correctly, as LPG propane gas regulators have a tendency to pack up and not deliver the correct gas pressure.Phil P.s To be fair if the pilot light stays lit then its...

    Some Gas Help Please ?

Sorry to be replying in bits and pieces, but looking at the photo once again Robert I would hazard a guess and say that the slot just below the temperature wheel should accommodate the thermocouple tube so as it would be out of the way from damage by the wheel itself, looking carefully it looks...

    Some Gas Help Please ?

I tend to agree that if it suddenly went out then the thermo couple would be my first thought. As for buying one I have found that usually a third party thermo couple can usually be found to fit. Phil

    Scotland the Brave

Bloody hell the title says it all the last few days up here in the Highlands you have to be brave the weather has been atrocious, the winds have been so bad that I had to turn the rig into the wind, otherwise we'd been blown over, but now the wind has dropped and the sun has come out. Even...

    American RV on EBay

I personally think that they are so impractical that I wouldn't even consider one, a) As Dave says fuel economy and B) The roads in the UK count it as a real no no, plus you need a parking place to keep it when not sweating as to how your going to squeeze it through the eye of a needle. 😳 Phil

Do you carry a scooter or motorbike in your garage?

The beauty of it is Squirrel that you can do the tour of MoT stations till you find a tester who will test it as a motor home 🙂. Phil

Do you carry a scooter or motorbike in your garage?

This was posted by me earlier for those that might be new to the thread. Ok all I have had a reply from The Caravan and motorhome club. The answer is as follows. Dear Phil Martin Spencer our technical manager has looked into your enquiry and read your attached e/mails. He has concluded...

Do you carry a scooter or motorbike in your garage?

As said earlier on in this thread Phil, a VOSA or Traffic policeman would have to be a bit of a jobs worth to report anyone in what after all is a motor home for carrying a motorcycle that is obviously used to transport the occupants for social activities. I think this is a situation that has...

Mechanic Labour Charges, also posted on other forums

To be fair Robert that sounds like a good price to me. When I sold my Garage/ MoT station I was charging 20 + vat per hour that was 17 years ago, the chap that bought it is now charging 40 + vat, when you consider that main agents are in the 65-75 + vat rate it makes independent garage rates...

    Solar Question

Greg you have them in parallel which means that you have basically got a single battery of 220ah so your panels would take in theory twice as long to charge up as charging a single battery of 110ah, but in all honesty with two panels off 100watts and a controller of 20amp rate my view would be...

    Driver / Passenger Armrests

Nick I thought about this option and looked into various ways of achieving it, after a while I forgot about it and now I don't even notice or care whether they are single arm rests or a captain's chair, it's a bit like mistakes made in the build you see them but nobody else can see them 👌😁. DVLA requirements for change to motor caravan

It would be good if Dave (Wildebus) told us what questions he asked in his "Freedom of information" letter/email to the DVLA, so that we can all see how their answers relate to the questions. My son will very shortly be applying to change his V5 to " Motor caravan" this is based on a Peugeot...

    Malvern Great western motorhome show

Have to say Auntyjan, I have only gone once to one of the shows there, I know it's included in the price but the particular time we went about 3 years ago it was crowded noisy and Bl......y expensive at the bar as we had run out of alcohol that we bought with us. Phil
