Side bump windows for Sprinter or Transit.........

Surprised there is no European versions available. Have only found the two supplied from the US. Have you tried contacting any of the German convertors to see if they would supply the ones they use.

Help with choosing length of van

Probably because what you think is a 5 year old Sprinter is a 17 year old Sprinter. :p

Help with choosing length of van

Don't forget to check GVW's. SWB vans are more often likely to have a lower GVW, you'll need to check model numbers to tell.

    Heating. Gas or diesel?

Thanks very much for all comments. Went with A2 Airtronic, located at back, for no better reason then it seemed easiest. :)

    Weight Reduction

I'd be looking at this the other way. Fit bigger higher load rated tyres which you can then run at lower pressure. Of course not as easy as just swapping, need to do some homework first.

    Heating. Gas or diesel?

Thanks Steve. Surprised the webasto is not good enough on it's own. Do you know what model it is? Is it just a air heater or does it heat water as well?

    Heating. Gas or diesel?

If fitting a van out from scratch, what would your preferred choice of heating be? Or what would you consider the pros/cons of gas or diesel. Any other thoughts on heating appreciated too. :)

    another what van

Renault Master worth adding to list. I think it's more important looking for a nice tidy vehicle, hopefully with maintenance record, then a particular model. Saying that, I look at Sprinters first. :)

    Layout/storage ideas?

I really don't have a rational answer to that. Current van was a lucky ebay find. It has since proved to be the most enjoyable all round vehicle I've ever had. I made a few mistakes layout wise with current van, I could rip it all out and start again, but decided not to. The big difference with...

Very nice layout. Huge amount of space in a Vario.

    Layout/storage ideas?

Van will be used as, daily driver, weekends away and longer trips, although 4 weeks is about the longest I can get away for for the next few years. Van will be for max of 3 people, but will be used mainly for 1 or 2. Diesel is just an idea at the moment and am far from 100% on the idea. I like...

    Layout/storage ideas?

Will have roof vents too. If I'm with someone that doesn't feel safe, the doors will stay closed. When I travel through France alone and stay on service stations the doors are open a few inches and chained, I also have a block on the door stop. I'll let the robbers do the calculations on how...

    Layout/storage ideas?

Well, I guess blocking a door off is always an option, trouble is it's an optional extra I have ticked, so I'll kick myself very hard if I do end up blocking it off. My current van came with two doors, at first I though it was pointless, now it's one of my favourite things about the van...

    Layout/storage ideas?

Table will be between swivel front seat and rear single seat, or between rear single seat and bench seat. Shower outside on back door, hot water if the sun is out :) Yes, cargo nets or canvas type things, but no overhead lockers, don't want to encourage friends to bring too much junk with them...

    Layout/storage ideas?

No, never have and still not sure if I will, need to look into it more, but cooking & heating from same bit of equipment and one fuel, all sounds good. On the other hand if it goes wrong, cold and no cup of tea, doesn't bear thinking about. :) Shirts & suits can stay on the floor, like they do...
