Reversing Camera..... which one to go for?

Yes I know, those people who know me will say that I have always poopooed the idea of fitting any kind of reversing camera, but here I am, finally thinking of actually fitting one!! The reason is that with my health not being anywhere near as good as I would like it to be, I am wanting my most...

    8mm or 10mm gas pipework

I bought my 8mm in a loose coil and it was sold as being "flexible". I used very careful fingers and thumbs to bend mine and was able to produce some very gentle 90deg bends, however if you want any sharp bends I would always use an elbow, about which, some suggest you are better using a...

    8mm or 10mm gas pipework

I used flexible 8mm pipe as it is so easy to work with. In my installation I have 8 mm going to the manifold and then 8 mm off to each of the appliances and at times that sees us using the hob, the grill, the water heater and room heater all at the same time and have never experienced any...

    Van Options

That is one interesting and tempting vehicle, I would be concerned about the long overhang and unless it had a walk through from the cab it would be a definite non starter, well for me any way. Phil

Balancing Power Consumption and Charging. Getting there....

In all of my many (60) years of tinkering with engines and having a fingers on the pulse contacts with numerous garages, I have never ever heard of a turbo fault resulting in the big ends getting damaged, that honestly is a new one on me!!!

Balancing Power Consumption and Charging. Getting there....

But as a converted van, most especially one which has been converted as superbly as yours has, then the retail price of a converted van is very considerably higher than a bare panel van. There are quite a few reputable companies around who undertake full engine reconditioning on a part exchange...

    Fuseboxes with led warning lights

Chris, there isn't an earthing point on my fusebox either, but the way I have installed my system (which I agree was OTT), I mainly used 3 core 2.5mm EHU cable for even the lightest load itemeven if they only needed a 1 or 2 core supply and in all cases I ran a earth from the device back to the...

Balancing Power Consumption and Charging. Getting there....

So very good to hear from you again David after quite a long absence and sorry to hear about your Dad. That was an exceptionally interesting read although technically well above what my pathetic little brain could understand! Although not related to living in a van or indeed anything to do...

    Fuseboxes with led warning lights

So, is it always best to have a definitive earth? .............. My entire system is somewhat over the top as I have mostly used 2.5mm cable, with every single device having a return to a central earthing post.

Resealing Van - The Restoration Revisited

I am left with feeling of utter amazement at your efforts Rae. Also, seeing the exposed and terrible insides during the strip down processes and the appalling build quality of the original construction, no wonder this type of van construction has always been referred to in self building circles...
