    Violating a Princess!

I removed mine and with the mechanism they were really heavy, my biggest concerns with them were weather seal and security. The closed fit was quite poor and I could not see a way of making them secure enough to deter unwelcome visitors.

    Inverter/mains input wiring.

Simple is the way for me, the lights I have put in are really just to help me on the build while plugged in on the drive they will stay but I have 24v lighting for normal use. I will run another supply from the inverter to power my fridge and tv when out and about. Thanks Dave

    Inverter/mains input wiring.

I have completed my mains wiring for ehu providing a pair of lights two double sockets with usb and supply to my battery charger all through a consumer unit. I want to power the sockets via the inverter when off grid, can I do a switchable supply or is a separate circuit best.

I am moving the hook up inlet on my conversion and adding a consumer unit. The original library wiring did not include a consumer unit. The unit I have bought has two breakers and space for a third, one breaker will be used for lights the other for a couple of sockets mainly for my ac fridge. My...

    One door closes......

I didn’t know this but seeing the way the body was built after I had stripped it out I thought there must be a reason they used rubber spacers so I did the same.

    One door closes......

Hi trev I used rubber separators as did the original body builders between the stainless frame and ally skin. Dave

    One door closes......

Finally found someone to make me a door to replace the bus type doors on my library conversion. Got it this week and with the good weather took a few days off work to get it fitted. Having removed the original doors the hole is almost twice the width I need so made a steel frame to fit the gap...

DVLA requirements for change to motor caravan

Having read the complete document now, happy to see I am on the list as body type special mobile unit. I will have all the requirements on the checklist apart from the bloody graphics, photoshop maybe. I feel for all who are well into a conversion that will be refused on the basis of this new list.

Finally a long enough gap in the rain to get my solar panels fitted 930 watts, now I can finish the roof and get on to wiring the controller etc. It was cold up there this morning.

    Solar query

That would make sense, I am using rigid panels and i know many people just use adhesive to fix them with no problems but I would constantly worry about them so mechanical fixing for me 😊

Ouch to both hopefully it is still attached, mine will be bolted to a rack I have made and the rack bolted to the roof. May your bones knit quickly.

    Solar query

Hi Trev I am aware of that risk but my very limited understanding of it is that wiring in series fully utilises the functions of an mppt controller and needs less wiring components than parallel. The downside as you say loose one loose them all, also applies to shade. If that happens I will...
