    Yikes - new battery price

It is true that there are some ECU's that require them to be reprogrammed when a new battery is installed, so if you are worried about this I suggest you make contact with your local Halfords who will not only be able to supply you with a battery at quite a good price but they will also have the...

    Yikes - new battery price

Basically factors in vehicle supply terms are companies who can supply vehicle parts, then if you enter your vehicles details onto their site searh engines you will be able to discover parts which are Original Equipment ( hence OE or OEM ) and other such equipment which possibly doesn't. They...

    Yikes - new battery price

I honestly can't understand anyone buying manufacturer supplied OE equipment once a vehicle is out of their restrictive warranty programmes!! Buy OE spec if you must, but buy it from a factor and save yourself hundreds of £'s. As an aside, I have just fitted new brakes all round on my BMW...

    Yikes - new battery price

I thought "Christ, can't be" so I took a quick look at Euro Car Parts and a Bosche starter battery for my Renault Master along with a 4 year warranty was there for a quite reasonable £156.99 off which you can normall take some kind of buying discount which today can be as much as 35%. So heaven...

    New build questions

That is exactly my problem these days Phil with the Bradycardia (at times I have a dangerously slow heart rate which results in equally dangerously low blood oxygen levels) resulting in me hardly having the energy to do anything physical !!

    New build questions

Despite me being a Renault Master fan, I can and do fully understand the reasons behind selecting the Sevel vans as they are easiest of all the standard panel vans to convert, most especially their squareness and overall width which makes single beds so easy to include in the build. If you can...

    New build questions

A SWB is an L1, a MWB is an L2, a LWB is an L3 and finally an XLWB is a L4............. always has been and always will be

    New build questions

Why restrict yurself with an L2 when an L3 gives you so much more room to use most especially as you would like a shower/loo which with 2 x 6' beds, I don't believe you could fit that lot inside an L2. Phil

A new van which can't be used and is just sitting there on the drive!

A close friend has recently taken delivery of his brand new Coachman conversion. It is the first of a new model and he was so impatient to get it delivered that it now is sitting on his drive and that is exactly where it will continue to sit as it is still awaiting full type approval by the...

I’ve sold our VARIO …… & now looking for another vehicle.

Boring old fart that I am, but here goes again Darren!! I built my Master LWB with an ultra light construction method which resulted in the following factual information. When we had finished our build, I filled to the brim our grey and black water tanks, I also filled the fresh water tank to...

I’ve sold our VARIO …… & now looking for another vehicle.

As you do, I have been thinking about your dilemma Darren, why has your van and the associated build got to be so darned heavy? If you go for a luton van, the very build of those is so very significantly lighter than your old which of course had a massively heavy steel chassis attached to...

I’ve sold our VARIO …… & now looking for another vehicle.

Darren have you thought of either the Renault/Vauxhall low loader luton vans, fully galvanised body and it is quite easy to cut through a walk through from the cab. Being the low loader type it overcomes the height problems and they also have that stonking enormous above cab storage area as...

I’ve sold our VARIO …… & now looking for another vehicle.

Depending on your budget Darren the Iveco Daily of more recent years have come with a fully galvanised body and did so from ?? 2018 ??, I don't know haw many of them came with the cruise control package and they do tend to be a bit tall, so might be nudging or slightly above your 3m height...

What are peoples thoughts on this

Very unfortunately I have a chronically injured spine with several cages, bolts and screws down its length and as I sit here right now I am awaiting an urgent surgical procedure to cage and bolt a broken vertebrae at the base of my spine. As this is very much the case for my spine, a...

What are peoples thoughts on this

I honestly do believe that despite all the new kit, the quality or rather very low quality of the build would be a very time consuming total rip out and start again job!! As others have said, if only for the need of thorough and efficient thermal insulation, every single item has to be removed...

Are remote gas solenoids worth it?

Apart from when using the Channel Tunnel, I always leave my gas cylinder connected, the only exception being whilst it is on SORN over the winter months. Then prior to me using her in the spring, I turn on the gas and thoroughly leak test every single joint throughout the system.

Battery only lasts 2 years and a bit?

Sorry Trev, but the countless competition engines and transmissions I built and rebuilt in those far off days of my youth and all the mechanics I knew both at the track side in the forests as well as in the garage ALWAYS started the cars they had just built, in neutral with the clutch pressed...
