Im not fussed on external screens just incase one has to move quick,or when sleeping they get nicked,id go for internal one to be honest but to each there own.
Im lucky i have 3 big opening roof widows which vent well,but its the masif big w/sheild which is like a cooker if pointing at the sun,i have now fitted bus pull down screens and a cab curtain which realy helps.

The very cheap inverters will not run for long times,but as you say they are only on when required so looks good to me,i missed a as new in box 12v compressor fridge on ebay last week for £270 ,thats life.
Its comming in maybe next year along with testing tractors,thats about 90% of all in ireland wipped out and about time to,no lights at night never registered and 12 year olds driving them to boot.
Problem is all trailers even home made ones have to have eu stamp,unless it is a old one refurbed before the rules came in about 12 years back,any trailers i build of course old ones refurbed,wink wink say no more.
You have asked the same on another forum,i think what you are wishing to do is mad and pos beyond your scope,i would try going the most common route without giving your self a brainstorm,have a look at other self build vans as this will give you some ideas.
