There are some idiots out there in this self building world of ours!!

I was t specifically looking for alloys was just checking some of the deals and with the details of my van entered they were offering unsuitable wheels. In the end we found Conti still produced a tyre that did the job on 15’s

There are some idiots out there in this self building world of ours!!

I had Chevy spacers on the rear of my VW IRS Trike wHickory allowed me to fit some big Jag wheels. I had no issue with bodywork or anything else though and it did go through a proper inspection to get a Q plate. I was looking at options for the Moho when it looked like I may hove to go up to...

Adding pipes to the outside of the vehicle

The vehicle still needs to comply with construction and use regs, I presume this is the problem with external pipes, all pipes inside or underneath, underneath may need to be fixed at set intervals. Its a long time since I have had to read construction and use so can't say more. I think you...

Have you placed your van on SORN in mid March, then check with your bank

You have to stop any direct debit yourself or so I thought?

    John Guest ?

Just a thought, how are you going to clamp the silicone on the copper? Presumably the copper will be quite thin wall so are you fitting some sort of insert? My engine coolant pipes are all run in the same rubber hose used in the engine bay for coolant, at a guess about an inch bore. My domestic...

Fitting Solar Panels Other Places ?

I still think a roof bar system is the better option. Not sure how panels would fare on the side of a van with wind when travelling. Certainly wouldn't work for me as I often squeeze through gaps narrower than my cab lol

Well even better today, its been a bright and somewhat sunny, if cold, day here today. I checked batterys at 4 this afternoon and they were at 87%. Thats 7% higher than they were when the sun went down yesterday so it is already producing more that the 65 amps I use. Bonus but not sure how long...

Whilst isolating due to age -mine not the van

We only have vinyl/cushion floor whatever it is then have some small mats in places. Find that a lot better with the two dogs. We dont have to worry if we come back wet and muddy, we can get warm and dry before having to clean up

My @Millie' is now on SORN

Well obvious yo you but I thought there may have been something else apart from the refund. To my mind its not worth it at £165 a year for the convenience of being able to move the van if/when I want to.

Cheap 50W Panel Test - Ongoing

Yeah I went for a happy medium, I dont need to put 100 amps an hour in and as you say when you start going up in size the prices need health warnings lol I would think carefully about no fitting solar, my 300W isn't replacing all my power useage but its getting close now. My battery bank was...

Not sure about some of this, my 30amp B2B seems to work great with my 200ah lifepo4. What you put would say I should have greater than 60ah or am I reading it wrongly (quite possibly)?

See, did say i didnt have my thinking head on, I was reading your 20v as 20w then dividing by 12v to get over 2 amps. Its tough being me at times ha ha ha

not got my thinking head on at the moment but is that right, only 0.13 amps at 20v? My panels are 12v so I never see anything like 20V but I thought it should equate to over 2 amps? Like I say not got my thinking head on at the moment though
