Do not allow shadows to fall on your solar panels.

Is there a discount code for them ? https://midsummerenergy.co.uk/

Do not allow shadows to fall on your solar panels.

Where are yours from please ? Link if possible I was thinking if I could fit TWO of the 95W flexi ones on Sylvia then I would have a total potential 475W of Solar Yield, which should be good for some off grid time I think.

Do not allow shadows to fall on your solar panels.

As an update i was looking at solar panels for flexible options and found these which are less affected by shadows than some others. Would be interested to know if anyone uses them https://www.bimblesolar.com/95w-flisom-flexi-2m

Victron SmartSolar - Should I change the battery preset?

What's your battery? I am pretty good at finding stuff online so if you give me the exact make model and anything else I might be able to find out some more info....

Victron SmartSolar - Should I change the battery preset?

What ever you do make sure that equalisation is disabled. If you bought battery from a vendor rather than Hankook direct then maybe ask them ?

MPPT vs PWM - The Solar Controller Test!

I would not rely on External Power or EHU but rather have decent Solar as the primary power source; split charge relay as secondary power source; and then EHU as an optional third Power Source. EHU would be used at home when parked for top up in Winter and to send 240V to a few sockets in the...

MPPT vs PWM - The Solar Controller Test!

Would it be OK to get a Larger one if the battery bank were to be upgraded in the future ? So as it stands 230AH = 23Amp to 46AMP Future possibly 800AH = 80Ampt to 160Amp So if I got https://www.cclcomponents.com/victron-energy-multiplus-compact-12v-1600va-70a-16-230v-ve-bus-inverter-charger...

MPPT vs PWM - The Solar Controller Test!

I am looking at a Victron Charger for a Van build, one that could report on 240V Consumed and Power Used in that process. I am quite Taken with the Victron Multiplus units but sadly they are likely out of budget.

Fridge is OFF in Sylvia unless plugged into 240V as OLD Electrolux 3 way Job Since we are posting some history and yesterday was quite a dark day Vs Today (so far anyway) Here is my yield yesterday So from TODAY 27/10/2019 Yield will be less all over UK due to the clocks going back so would be...

VED Changes - 705% Increase to NEW Motorhome On Road Tax

2020 Plate Motorhomes are set to see as apparently by a ruling in the European Parliament, the VED for a new motorhome will increase from £265 (PLG rate) to £2,135 – a 705% increase – plus there will be significant higher ongoing yearly tax costs (for a further five years). There is a petition...

DVLA Changes to Motorhome Builds 2019

Just as an aside when I went to the motorhome show and spoke to a Vendor the TAX for new purchase registration Motorhomes or Campers is around £2200 Year one and £500 the next 4 years after that, some government change to get more income from those with Motorhomes who they probably deem as...

@wildebus thanks for latest graphs, where is your consumption bar data gained from ? Do you have Venus OS plugged into a BMV-712 or similar ?

MPPT vs PWM - The Solar Controller Test!

Do you mean 120W Panel ? I don't think 120W panel with 125AH battery would be sufficient for use in the UK apart from 3 months a year in the situation you are proposing. Even with a 285W Panel and around 230AH of Battery and a Victron 100/30 MPPT I am not getting past Bulk State of charge...

MPPT vs PWM - The Solar Controller Test!

I was speaking to a Boat Owner the Other day who has the following set-up: 1KW Solar panels Unknown amount of Traction batteries (Lead Acid ones from Forklifts he said) Controllers and Inverters etc Supplied by Outback Power (expensive and similar standard to Victron I think) He reckons on his...

DVLA Changes to Motorhome Builds 2019

No idea on "awning Bar" myself, I would guess it is somewhere to attach an awning. The Van I am thinking of buying next has no graphics and is registered as a MH so I take it these rules only apply to new builds going forwards? TIA

Really ? Would never have thought that, thought it would be sheet metal. It's a 1995 Transit and am struggling to find any information about them online, anything I look at seems to be post 2000 Transits. Do you have a link to verify what you are saying ? If it's GRP roof then will hopefully...
