    Swivel above the box does seem the right way to do it. If you have to, this stuff is good for keeping cables where they need to be. You might be able to make it work for you... Google cable chain.

    It would be possible, but you'd get the smallest amount of heat - hardly noticeable. A black tank on the roof would probably do better.

    Rob, I'm assuming you mean the groove to put the T edge in place? It's possible to use a router to cut out the hole into the cupboard in a way that the piece you cut out can be used as the door, if that makes sense. I think that's what's being talked about, not that the picture shows that lol.

    I have a guy in Bristol who works for a company doing this, but he does private cash stuff on the weekend. Probably not ideal him being here, but if you can try and find someone local that might be the way to go. I bought the glass from a company on eBay and he fitted it fine. This was on the Vito.

    The simple answer is cover the roof. You can never have too much, and too little sucks. If money is an issue, buy what you can afford, but make sure the controller will support a roof full for later.

I'm North Bristol. On the skylight, we use ours a lot - not only as a vent. We can open it's blind...
