    What’s all this then.

Thanks for that it was the three cylinders and the green thing that had me scratching my head. All seems to work as it should so I shall remount them in another position and leave them to it.

    What’s all this then.

Can anyone identify these components please. They are associated with my charger and inverter and I would like to know what they are and what they do. Thanks Dave

    Spray adhesive for polystyrene?

I will replace it with celotex, it took me so long to do the roof that I was looking for a short cut. However with your comments and common sense prevailing I will do it properly. I think my internal stainless framework is the same as yours Trev, so as you know a lot of cutting to fit the voids.

Roof light yes or no ?

Yes thanks I got that, my adhesive remark was a general comment on my ever growing pile of empty tubes after insulating.

Roof light yes or no ?

Hi Phil Fortunately my roof has no ridges, flat with a slight curve not enough to be problematic. So should be fairly straightforward fingers crossed. Dave

    Spray adhesive for polystyrene?

Hi Phil I thought that may be the case and you are right about the tape. Parts of the original insulation are jablite type polystyrene I have replaced a lot of it with celotex, having run out of celotex I was thinking of leaving the last bit and gluing a membrane to it as not enough for another...

Roof light yes or no ?

Sounds like a worthwhile pastime, now that I have opted for a skylight or two I look forward to doing the same. I may give that mastic a go the price is right, I can’t believe how much adhesive I am getting through!!

Roof light yes or no ?

I had not thought of that, just had a quick look at some but I have bought a Heki now. Don’t think I will be up there much once the build is finished but a good idea for a viewing deck set up.

Roof light yes or no ?

Thanks for that Phil a useful insight, I am going with Heki for the reasons that a, most people seem to use them so tried and tested. b, I prefer the clamping fitting as opposed to screwing down. c, stars will be visible. Dave

Roof light yes or no ?

You may well be right Geoff, I am constrained by the size of the gaps in the stainless box section frame in the roof and I do not want to cut any of these out, the cost of Heki midi’s also puts me off. I will start with a Heki mini in the bedroom as I am doing this part of the build first, then...

Roof light yes or no ?

Yes I think I am convinced to put one above the bed. I intend to fit an extractor hood above the cooker and a extractor fan in the bathroom. I am definitely going to fit solar and it will be at a later stage, my priority is to reach a point where we can use it with the essentials fitted and...

Roof light yes or no ?

Good point’s Ihad thought about the noise but not the power consumption. My wife’s view as well. Leaning towards it. Interesting that you regret fitting MPK lights ?

Roof light yes or no ?

Just about finished insulating the roof today, four sheets 30mm celotex cut into over fifty separate panels and eight tubes of stixall it’s a big roof. I have left a space over the bed area to allow a 400 x400 roof light to be fitted , I am unsure if I want to do this or not. I have two...

    Which Van

The library bus of these two, plenty of room for two rows of travelling seats and beds galore. Take your time and go to see a few.

    Which Van

I think 7.5 tonne is your answer to house six people or as Phil says a bus. You need space and payload capacity to be comfortable. Having a variety of caravans when our children were young we found bigger to be best and made for happier holidays. Having said that we are converting a 7.5 at the...
