  1. Stiff Windows (yawn)

How are your windows opening now?
  2. Stiff Windows (yawn)

Nope, schoolboy error possibly. Did not check the opening of the windows before I fitted them. Would be surprised if I've managed to bend them during fitting. They are big boys and the track is bonded to the glass. Unless the bonding adhesive has pulled the glass out of shape. Will give some...
  3. Stiff Windows (yawn)

Possibly not the most exciting of threads, but here goes. Installed some nice shiny new windows in the van. They are the opening type whereby a section of the glass slides back into a channel top and bottom with a felty type strip in it presumably to stop rattles/drafts etc. The felty type...
  4. Fibre/construction board

When building laboratories, hospitals and the like, whenever a surface was likely to be subjected to regular damp like a lab surface or IPS panels. Trespa was very often specified. https://www.trespa.com/en-gb Downside is it it is pretty heavy. Upside is it lasts practically forever and can...
  5. Not a Self-build, but a Tweaker

    Congratulations! Lovely looking van.
  6. Battery bank almost ready...

Hi, Yes the same but the link you put is for the version 2 of this battery that has 8 extra ah and they changed the BMS data cables over to a superseal connector. Oh, and they are now green. As Wildebus says, they do pop up on eBay.. Will Prowse (I think that's his name) did one of his youtube...
  7. Battery bank almost ready...

MOT in November. I'll let you know if that's the case when I see the advisory list ! 🤣
  8. Battery bank almost ready...

Finished wiring superseal connectors onto the batteries tonight. Added an extra battery to the existing two. Trouble was it had a different bms data connector on the new one so I had to bite the bullet and swap them all over. I really struggled to source the existing connectors (some sort of...
  9. Superseal connectors

These ones seem good. As you say, not cheap I don't suppose.
  10. Superseal connectors

Borrowed the crimpers as well so this has to get done tonight :sneaky:
  11. Superseal connectors

Ha ha yep. That's when I realised it hadn't gone as well as I thought. Fiddly.
  12. Superseal connectors

God, what a bloody misery wiring superseal connectors! Seems a real knack to them... Glad a bought spares. Although weatherproof and seem popular, I had to give up trying to make them in the van. Just too fiddly so brought it all inside and sat at a bench to do them. 🥵
  13. Strange chirping type noise

Called these guys this morning. Seems like they can re-manufacture the module if needed. A useful contact. Thanks very much.
  14. Strange chirping type noise

It may well come to this... Would rather find the problem first if I can. I have a feeling it could be a problem in the loom somewhere. Thanks
  15. Strange chirping type noise

Thanks. What pictures are you going from? Don't think I have ever put a picture up have I ?! Maybe on motorhomer?
  16. Strange chirping type noise

That's a good idea... Now to find a willing test subject! I can't think of anyone that I know unfortunately. I'd also worry that if there is another fault somewhere it could pop the relay in the borrowed module! I suppose if I get my module checked again and if the relay is proved to have...
  17. Strange chirping type noise

An inspired response! Seriously though, there is no step alarm fitted if that's what you mean. No step either in fact.
  18. Strange chirping type noise

The bigger picture is that since I have had the van, the side, sliding door will lock on the keyfob but not unlock. And recently, as I have said, there is a chirpy type electrical noise coming from somewhere when I open the door. It's become one of those unsolved mysteries that just bugs you...
  19. Strange chirping type noise

Well, the electric activating thing is about all that's in the door connected to the lock isn't it??? Is it called an actuator... or is it a solenoid? Either way, its the bit that fires the lock into either locked or unlocked position and also moves the manual lock lever. I can't seem to...
  20. Strange chirping type noise

The switch certainly seems to operate because when the door is opened the interior light comes on. No alarm on this one. central locking though.
