    Dvla body type

Is private hgv Road tax £165 cheaper than bus/coach ? As Wildebus says this seems to be an automatic dvla response to conversion requests with no appeal. 😒

    Compression locking latch

It just annoys me that the originals are made in China, as are all the ones on ebay and the trailertek ones. Trailertek not only double the price but want £9.60 postage grrrrrrrr.

    Compression locking latch

Thanks for that, have trawled through ebay but can't find a size match they are all a bit smaller, my cutouts are in aluminium panels. I will keep looking before resorting to butchery.

    Compression locking latch

Trying to source a couple of these to replace two knackered ones while I am doing my very sensible midwinter repaint. These are to fit a cut out of 99 x 23.5 mm on the locker doors. I have found a company called trailertekcom in Winchester that have them but just shy of £60 for two delivered...

Winter project fiat ducato 2011 120 multi jet

Looks a good base vehicle, as others have said the roof should be your starting point. Having a similar roof albeit with much stronger framing I did use 25 mm celotex adhered to the underside then added battens for fixing ceiling cladding to. Used existing framing to support solar rooflights etc...

    Generator talks

Good to hear your good experience with Hyundai , I to am in the generator search minefield and have almost decided on the Hyundai P2500i as a winter backup. They run a constant 2000 watts £460ish from Hyundai uk with two year warranty. I had a Honda many years ago and while it was good I find it...

    V5 Motor Caravan

Standard rejection letter received today, apparently permanent external features ( not specified ) missing even though all asked for present. Hey ho, stupid decals removed now in preparation for new paint. And I shall continue to enjoy life in my special mobile unit.😄👍

    V5 Motor Caravan

I think the detail you missed is that it is registered as a private hgv, not a commercial goods carrying vehicle.

    V5 Motor Caravan

So here goes nothing ? Decided to send off and see what happens. I did intend to do this last year hence the autosleeper decals I stuck on the sides, but never got round to it to busy being away. Now I am getting ready to paint the outside all decals will be removed, so thought why not while it...

    Eberspacher ducting.

I think that is what I will go with, already decided on them for the reducer and vents. 👍

    Eberspacher ducting.

I have decided to redo my heating ducting as I am not happy that the stuff I used originally is able to take the heat produced by Eberspacher D5. I am going to fit a reducer on the heater output 90mm to 60mm to make the ducting easier to work with. The best price I have seen for the 60mm ducting...
